Try some of the tree experts . If they dont leave the tree they cut they generally sell the wood. you can get it a little cheaper if you get it in logs instead of fire place size

Not east NJ, but I know a farm right next to Sarco/Heritage if you are headed out that way or to Cabelas. Sells cords, fresh eggs, and vegetables.

if you're willing to cut/split wood yourself......keep your eye on craigslist. plenty of free wood there. many people won't pay the extra that tree companies want to charge to haul the tree away.

Myself and a few guys I know used Trees R Us in Wayne.  Have gotten dry firewood and tree service from them, never an issue.

Chester. Ariens 22 ton. Thing is a beast and I only split less than a cord on it.
