Anyone have a CCW Permit on here??

Recommended Posts

That's the caveat. Of the 400 something permits issued I guarantee 90% or more were for fixed places of business only. Said hypothetical owner of jewelry store would not be able to use issued CCW outside of business days, hours, location etc. the permits that do rarely get issued are not issued in the means that we think a CCW would get issued, if not law enforcement.

The OWNER of ANY business who is not otherwise a prohibited person does not need a CCW to carry in his business! That is in the exemptions of the Statutes.

If you own a business, it  is considered the same as your residence. You can carry there. Just not outside of either location. You may also carry at an accredited range if they allow it or if you have a valid hunting licence

and are in an area where hunting is allowed.

I believe that nearly all CCW permits issued are for people working armed security.

^^This was my whole point of my original post - everything else was speculations and theorizing on maybe 1-2 permits issued that might NOT have been the security field, but the 400+ permits issued last year were almost positively all for armed security and only during working hours I'm sure.

^Agreed, they should (with reasonable exceptions like walking upon a bank robbery) be limited to only having power when in uniform.

That being said, i SHOULD just open a security company, then, and hire myself as 'armed security'.... Wouldn't that be sort of a big loophole?

I should apply! I've been doing it for a few years and have yet to catch a bullet (Not that i haven't gotten close), i bet when i finally do get shot i'll get the permit!

:/

So I'm Facebook friends with Albert Almeida. He is one of the original members of the Party of 6. And manages about 100 properties in the Newark area. There are threads on here about his CCW case in NJ. He had credible Death threats from gang bangers. The judge told him to change jobs, and refused to issue his permit. I sent him a link to this thread, he read it and told me to tell you to check out the party of 6 website, and not to hire Evan Nappen for your court case if you decide to apply.

Did he say why not to hire Nappen?

Yes, because he didn't get his permit using Nappen. Just a huge bill, and an unwilling attorney to take the case national. The SAF was on board with funding to bring the case to a national level. Nappen dropped the ball filing the appeal to make that happen. Why? Great question... but it has a lot to do with Scott Bach, the NRA, and painting Chris Christy in a bad light during his presidential campaign... for more information visit the Party of 6 website...

"Stand down guys, we have something big in the work's" really f**ked over Albert Almeida, & the rest of us is what happened...

It won't work, we've discussed this exact senerio on this forum before. Search my posts for the thread. Basically in order to open a security company in NJ you have to have a prior minimum of 5 years experience as a law enforcement officer. Plus even if you found a cop to be the owner of your company, the judge can still deny your permit to carry "while working as a bonded security guard" once he finds out your little scheme. So no its not a viable option unfortunately. They're one step ahead of your thinking...

But I thought nappen was a god and is infallible.

Although I do have great respect for the man, and everything he has done for NJ gun owners. This is one instance where he fucked up. No one is perfect my bro.

Wow - I had no idea about this but I will read up more - So did he end up getting his permit after all that or no?  I also wonder why after all these years and especially after Heller and McDonald why there is not a case that was brought up on a national level, I'm sure the SAF would be on board with it as well - also, Christie not wanting to be cast as anti-gun I'm sure had a HUGE deal to do with it - very sad indeed.  I will go on his website and read up on party of 6 -

Everyone should keep that in mind. "Because Nappen said so" will not keep you out of jail, either.

2nd.

The NJSP has a scheme set up that only police officers can open businesses in the security of investigations field, unless you have crazy amounts of experience like 10 years as a P.I. This is bullshit for multiple reasons. First of all, how does the NJSP have jurisdiction to lobby law makers to decide who can and cannot open a private business? Imagine if a governmental organization said to you, "you can only open a landscaping business if you worked for XXX company for 10 years". It's the same with the SORA license to practice security. Basically I have to pay the NJSP to pracitce security for any company, it's not chew either. This is one of the few states that has this form of extortion.

You cannot own a Plumbing, HVAC, or Electrical company in NJ without a license either. You must apprentice for 5 years, attend 4 years of school, then take your master test and pass to become a master before you're allowed to own a company in those trades. So it's a similar scheme as well. NJ sucks...

No he didn't get a permit, he was denied. The judge told him to change his profession if he was too scared to do his job without a firearm. Or he had the option of hiring armed security to follow him around. Just recently the same group of gang bangers that have threatened to kill him spray painted their direct intentions with his name, to take him out on one of his buildings. Then they shot out all the front windows. He met with Newark PD about it today, and they basically told him they're working on it... lol...

If the Bloods, Crips, & Latin Kings all tag your name on a building saying they're going to kill you, that's apparently not justifiable need in NJ to qualify for a permit.

Hahaha, if he couldn't get a permit with shit like that i shouldn't even bother...

You should talk to him about going national. I'll gladly join in on the suit if we had enough people to help fund it. Granted i haven't had anything THAT serious, but i've had people push through me and walk right into the property while operating with saws and stuff doing some flooring work because they were drunk and high as hell, had to escort the guy out with 4 big ass dudes... fortunately he was unarmed so we just man handled him... Stuff like that is normal. Wife was damn near attacked there, as well.. Called the police for that one, don't think they ever showed up, had to lock her inside the building.

Unfortunately, Not much to be done in NJ... I'll have to take the judges suggestion and GTFO of this shitty state..

You're both wrong. You are required to have 5 years experience as a LEO or conducting investigations to get a private investigator's license or run your own security company. See NJSP website. You can work for a private investigator to get that experience.

Then apply to be denied and join. You can donate, they have a "go fund me" set up to take this case national. Just need a NJ attorney that's willing to take the case to the next level. That's been proving difficult apparently. Are you on Facebook?

WOW - What a fucking shame - and yes I read his site yesterday and so sad - Tell him we are thinking of him!  So how can we help besides donating?  Apply to be denied and join an eventual class action?  I don't have any "justifiable need" but the Constitution-  in my opinion thats totally outside the realm of the 2nd Amendment.

Spread the word, join the Facebook 2A groups where we discuss all this stuff. And show up to the tavern meetings.

If you decide to donate this is where to do so.

Just to confirm, 3 pages into this thread and no CCW... right?

that nj freedom of information act report that the state was forced to release about a month ago showed something like 600 carry permits issued statewide for the year (2015 i believe). this out of a state of 9 million people. the math says you have a better chance of winning the nj state lottery during the course of a year if you play twice a week...

^This may be the wrong place to ask but the other thread with the legal proceedings going now (SAPPA?) are PO6 working together with them or different goals?

Different group, SAPPA is part of Tpath I believe. They're working on their RICCO case. PO6 is pushing to take a Justifiable need case to the SCOTUS, to have Justifiable need declared unconstitutional. Similar to a Heller or McDonald type landmark style case. Two different approaches to achieve a common goal.

I just got my CCW today after years of waiting. As some of you know I was brutally attacked several years ago. The perps cut off my legs. I applied but the judge ruled that my justifiable need was unjustifiable. Re-applied after another savage beating in which I lost both arms. Judge again said no. "If I give it to you then every armless, legless sonofabitch will want one." Then last Christmas Eve I was again accosted while stocking one of my ATMs, in a nice section of Irvington, using only my teeth and one 3-inch stump. During the altercation the bastards amputated my torso from my head. So I re-applied and the judge said, "well, alright." Had a "nose holster" fashioned from lamb skin and I shoot by spitting wooden nickels against the trigger. Single action only of course.
