mikeyjones 88 Posted May 20, 2016 Living in NJ, we're capped at 15 rounds so I have very limited options on magazines. Right now I have a few pinned 17rd mags but I'm not able to take them apart for cleaning and such. So I'm looking into other options available to me. Can I buy a 10rd mag such as this one: here and add an extension such as this one for a total of 13? Anyone see any reason why that wouldn't work? Aside from the ridiculous cost? My other option is just to buy more 17rd mags and have them pinned. Again, I'd really like the ability to disassemble so I'm willing to give up the extra 2 rounds of ammo. mustang69 505 Posted May 20, 2016 I don't believe those base pads will fit the CZ 10-round mags. CZ 10-rounders are short mags with an extended plastic base. The +3 base pads are meant for the full-length mags.

sinter 4 Posted May 24, 2016 If it's primarily cleaning that your concerned about, you can always buy an inexpensive ultrasonic cleaner from Harbor freight, purchase some ultrasonic solution made specifically for cleaning guns and use that to clean your magazines

Ryan626 5 Posted June 16, 2016 You could put dimples on it to limit the round to 15. Mecgar makes 17 rd mags for cz 75 and their 10 rd version is the same mag with dimples or indentation limiting the mags to 10 but you are able to disassemle the mags. Problem is that I can't take possession of a 17rd mag in NJ, and most FFL's won't do that kind of work. They don't consider it "permanent".
Ryan626 5 Posted June 17, 2016 So Mecgar is wrong I guess! Lol! My buddy from NY didnt have issues with it
mikeyjones 88 Posted June 17, 2016 So Mecgar is wrong I guess! Lol! My buddy from NY didnt have issues with it Mecgar does what they feel comfortable doing. There is no case law defining what is "permanent" according to the state of NJ.
Ryan626 5 Posted June 17, 2016 I guess but my buddys ffl in NY didnt see any issues with it! I can only put 10 rds on it and itsdimple is permanent.

There are also some FFLs in NJ that think that putting some JB Weld around a muzzle brake is good enough... Point is FFLs don't decide the law. In my view a dimple is probably good enough, but no one around me will do it that way and I can't take possession of 17 rd mags in NJ. So this is a moot point. Ryan626 5 Posted June 17, 2016 Dude did you ask if cz custom can help?
Ryan626 5 Posted June 17, 2016 Then again this might be all a moot point if the new governor makes us all a 10 rd state like NY! Let me enjoy my 2011s now. I told u to go with the tanfo! Im the same guy that talked to u in enos!
mikeyjones 88 Posted June 17, 2016 Dude did you ask if cz custom can help? I've already found some mags. Paul (PK90) did a good job pinning them. So now I have plenty of 15rd NJ legal mags.

Looks like I'm too late but I got a CZ 75 SP-01 that came with 2 NJ compliant 15 round mags and was able to buy more of the same directly off the CZ website.
