New guy needs your opinion

Find out which sites to source for ammo. Buy in bulk to maximize cost of shipping or capitalize on free or close to free shipping. I use Cabela's so no tax and also usually $5.00 shipping which is awesome for 1000 rounds at a time. Also buy on sale and stock up. I'm sure you will pick up alot from other forum members as well. If you are ever interested in checking out CRRC lemme know if you don't mind shooting late.

I was actually looking online for ammo deals today. I wasn't sure how ordering online worked so I'm glad you cleared that up I will check out cabelas.

Shooting late isn't a problem for me so I'll definitely send you a PM and get in touch when I finally go out shooting thanks!

By the way some online sites will ask for a copy of your FID before they process your orders. I usually avoid those vendors. It's just their policy and not law. Here's a list of some that I have used and some other useful sites.

http://www.cabelas.com/

http://www.targetsportsusa.com/ (free & fast shipping when buying 1000 rounds)
http://www.sportsmansguide.com/ (membership gives you the lower prices, open an acct w/ a buddy and split membership)
https://www.freedommunitions.com/ (remanufactured ammo)

Dicks Sporting Goods on occasions have sales too so sign up for their membership and get those $10.00 coupons although there's been talks that those may not apply to ammo anymore but not 100% sure on that rumor.

These are other sites to help locate and check ammo prices keep in mind shipping cost needs to be factored in to compare apples to apples. Don't just see the lowest prices but then they knock u up for shipping upwards of $30.00 a case of 1000 rounds.

I think you got enough info to keep ya busy for a while.

^^All great vendors - for what its worth I've been using Sportsmans Guide a lot lately - They will give you a free month trial of their membership (which gives you 5% discount on ammo and 10% I think on firearms) - and if you don't keep it its easy to cancel at the end of the month.  They are like Amazon as well and every 3 or 6 months you can get a free month trial as well.

Usually the vendors that offer free shipping are the ones that get my business because its usually $15 minimum and sometimes $25 from some vendors to ship ammo - Sportsmans Guide has been getting my business a lot lately because they run Free Shipping over $49 codes quite often (usually once a month) and I'd rather make smaller orders (say 250 rds or 500 rounds) once a month or so to be continuously stocking, then one bulk order of 1k or 2k rounds every 4 months -

I just got 500 rds of 124gr 9mm S&B range ammo and 2 Plano ammo cans (I usually order one or two with each order as mine are all full) for like $140 shipped about 2 weeks ago - the free shipping is so worth it.

Great info here guys I really appreciate it I look forward to looking at all of these sites. Now it's time to start researching and figure out what my first ammo order will be.

Do you guys suggest ordering 250-500 rounds for a first time order and any ammo suggestions? I've heard a lot about Winchester, Federal and PMC(lower quality ammo from what I've heard). Thanks again guys you've been great help so far

All good - I mean yeah if you know you are getting 9mm order yourself some ammo and depending on what your wallet can handle.  I just ordered 500 rounds with an ammo box it was like $130 shipped - plenty for starters, once you know what your gun likes and what you like to shoot you can order in higher quantities.  Order yourself 2 - 250's and try 2 different types.

the 115FMJ is the lightest range ammo around, I ordered 124gr, and I'm not a ballistics expert but I also think 147gr is a popular load.

Order some FMJ range ammo, I have ammo from Sellier & Bellot (Czech), Federal American Eagle (USA), Fiocchi (Italy) - all been great ammo brands for me.  I'd steer away from TulAmmo steel cased obviously (dirty) - Personally i haven't shot the PMC but I tend to steer away from the Asian stuff because I can get American or European ammo for the same or less prices.

Speer Lawman, Blazer Brass, also great brands.

I'll definitely order 2 or 3 different types of ammo and see what I like best. So many sites to choose from I'll be shopping all week!

Garden State shooting center and shoreshot are in lakewood. Gssc is reasonably priced. Range 14 is also good and cheapest. It's about $60/year and $4/Hr

Heard about all of these and also someone recommended Gun for hire to me in woodland park. I don't mind driving an hour or so to a range honestly, obviously if there is a closer cheaper one I'll probably go there but distance isn't that big of an issue. It'd be nice to go meet some people for the first time I go shoot too

I'll end up going to all of these ranges hopefully

I'll probably take a day to check it out and see how the price compared elsewhere. Everyone I know goes down to shore shot so I'm sure I'll end up there and I heard Range 14 is great and I have a buddy who shoots there. Again driving isn't an issue so whichever is cheapest and that I feel most comfortable at will end up being my home range

Gun for hire is a good place to find and shoot guns some people wish they had or are considering buying.

PMC is actually decent stuff. It's actually a Korean manufacturer from what I read. I've used their brand in the following sizes 9mm, .45, .223, 5.56 and no issues whatsoever.

Yeah no complaints that I've read and yes it's South Korean - like I said I just tend to find American and European ammo and similar or better prices so that's what I go with. I wouldn't hesitate to shoot a box of PMC

Made the purchase today at Monmouth Arms thanks for the feedback guys really helped me through the whole process.

Now its time to wait patiently for my FID and Permit to come in so I can pick my baby up  :D

So did you stick with the G19? How did you like the selection? Got my hands on the CZ P01 in that urban grey today and it was hot!

Yep G19 fell in love once I held it. The selection is great I held a lot of them including the CZ P01 which is a beauty. Let me know how it shoots. I'm thinking that's the next purchase probably around Christmas time for myself but I won't get to ahead of myself just yet haha

Welcome to the club!  I purchased my G19 a week ago and picking it up on Wednesday - already ordered a few Glock goodies for it, a 4th mag, etc - extra magazines are fairly cheap compared to some other manufacturers as well - now go get some ammo!

You know the deal with Glocks, you can't just have one!  I'm already shopping for a G26 or G43, probably a 26 since the 19 mags are interchangeable :)

Nice! I'm hoping my FID and permit come in this week so I can go pick it up! In the mean time I'm ordering ammo today probably around 200-300 rounds just to get started. Im going to keep it stock probably for a while except for maybe the sights. Can't wait to get to the range and shoot.

I would definitely want to own a G17 and G26 in the future it's just a matter of time

I was staff at the Battle For The North Coast USPSA match a couple of weeks ago. I won a certificate for a new Glock at the staff dinner. I already have several Glocks which fulfil my needs so I'm putting it up for sale.
The certificate is good for the following guns free of charge:
      9mm: G17, G17 Gen5, G19, G19 Gen5, G26. G26 Gen5, G43, G43X MOS, G48 MOS, G45
      .40S&W: G22, G22 Gen5, G23, G23 Gen5, G27, G27 Gen5
      .357Sig: G31, G31 Gen4, G32, G32 Gen4, G33, G33 Gen4
      .380: G42
      .22LR: G44
      .45GAP: G37, G37 Gen4, G38, G39

There are other models available with an upgrade fee which is taxable (just the upgrade fee, not the whole price of the gun)
      $58 Upgrade:
      10mm: G20, G20SF, G29, G29SF
      .45ACP: G21SF, G21 Gen4, G30 Gen4, G30SF, G30S, G36FGR
      $71 Upgrade fee:
      9mm: G19 Gen5 MOS, G45 MOS, G47 Gen5 MOS
      $90 Upgrade fee:
      9mm: G19X (Coyote color only)
      $92 Upgrade fee:
      9mm: G34
      .40S&W: G35
      .45ACP: G41
      $156 Upgrade fee:
      9mm: G34 Gen5 MOS
      10mm: G40 Gen4 MOS
      .45ACP: G41 Gen4 MOS
The actual list of guns is here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/w3GnW1DjwepoGebH8
You can also choose to add Glock night sights for $67 or, if ordering a Gen5 model, Ameriglo Bold sights for $90.
The certificate is valid until 12/31/2024. You would need to fill it out and send it with a copy of your FFL's license to Glock. They would then send the gun to your FFL for transfer to you. You are responsible for all FFL fees.
I'm looking for $475 for the certificate. As there is no actual firearm being transferred, just a certificate, there is no permit required, although you will need one if you are an NJ resident so your FFL will be able to transfer the gun to you.

      Hello,
I am new here and looking to sell my two hand guns (I have another post for a Browning 22 1911 what will have a description very similar to this post).

This post is for a Glock G19 GEN5 with night sights that I purchased new from Firearms Support and Storage June of 2019. I have used it a total of two times at RTSP in Union NJ and in it's lifetime it has shot only 172 rounds down range.
It comes with 3 10 round magazines as well as the grips/lock as shown in the photos. I have not used it since prior to covid, so I will give it the best cleaning I can before the sale.
The price is $325 plus FFL transfer fees.
If you have questions or if I can share any other photos, please let me know.

      Thank you!

Does anyone have experience with Jim Flynn’s in glen Gardner nj, I bought a bag of 9mm Ammo for my Glock 19 gen 5 and I was wondering if it’s good Ammo and if it’ll be safe to fire in my Glock. Thank you- TD
