JT Custom Guns 956 Posted June 27, 2016 When asked at an ATF sponsored dealer forum, the NJ State Police stated they do not accept a riveted mag as being legal in NJ. I'm not saying I agree with them BUT it appears to be their opinion that a rivet is too easily reversible, so they will not accept them. You may want to look into that before dropping too much money on them........ Good Luck!
maintenanceguy 509 Posted June 28, 2016 If not riveted, what is considered "permanent"?

Yet you can take apart a hexmag and pull the riser block and put in new spring with no tools......... If not riveted, what is considered "permanent"? Great question, I don't want to order any if that is the case. Gunmagwarehouse has Korean 10 rounders for 9.99 Decisions decisions.
DeletePLS 178 Posted June 28, 2016 difference with hex mags would be that they are manufactured to only hold 15 rounds. I personally wouldn't consider a rivet to be permanent either, my FFL blocks the mag, glues the baseplate and blind pins the baseplate as well. I've also heard the same as Jack, from the NJSP firearms unit about a rivet not being sufficient enough.
maintenanceguy 509 Posted June 28, 2016 I can pull a blind roll pin at least as easily as I can drill out a rivet.
DeerSlayer 241 Posted June 28, 2016 I have a bunch of steel AK mags I bought at RTSP. They're all 15/30 with a rivit in them.

Doesn't mean much, plenty of stores included the one you have mentioned have sold entire guns in NJ that weren't legal. Just because a dealer is selling it doesn't make it automatically legal.
