Fortunately Reebok needs Crossfit alot more than Crossfit needs them.

 

Are you sure?  Reebok's parent has a market cap of $25 Billion, with a B.   I think they'll be just fine.

Crossfit : the premise is good its just the execution is dangerous. Having average people doing olympic style lifts (that take years to master) for many reps in a circuit training type fashion with other exercises meant to tax the heart and lungs heavily is usually a recipe for injury. Some of the CF trainers have little training in teaching these movements properly so that leads to injury too.

 

I should know. I have been doing it for a few years now on and off. I can only go a few months before I tear or pull something and then I cant workout at all. I start up again for 3-5 months and another injury happens.

 

So now I workout alone and avoid paying the $150-200 a month that a crossfit facility charges. I still do the olympic lifts but never in a circuit training fashion. Deadlifts, cleans, snatches and squats are done in an olympic workout fashion with lower reps and adequate rest b/t sets. For the WOD circuit training portion Im only doing bodyweight only movements like burpees, leg raises, wall balls, jump rope, and box jumps. So far, that has been a good formula to avoid injury.

I've seen too many crossfit injuries, poor form and poor instruction. My gym is $70 a month and it's not a social experience. I go, get my sweat and lift on, relieve some stress, go home and bone my wife like a porn star.

 

Rinse and repeat. It's just not for me. I respect people who try it intermittently as cross training, as we know how beneficial that is. But for me if you are serious about fitness you should belong to a conventional gym with a conventional strength and cardio regimen.

What's worse for the children, the winner of a fitness competition winning a gun that will probably stay in a glass display case at their house or a bunch of perverted freaks and child molesters putting on a show in front of a store where children are? 

 

Hey, Lou, I like you but that is a pretty dumb thing to say, both because it paints with a very broad brush a lot of people, and secondly because it confirms to bystanders that gun owners are closed minded idiots. You can disagree with someone's sexuality but pretending that all gay people are child molesters is simply stupid.

Personally I did not get injured doing Crossfit for at least a couple years now.

I did get injured before when I tried too hard too early. Same happened before cf with running and it was even worse than any cf injury I had. There are couple standard moves in programming that I would rather avoid or scale down a lot but I did not see anybody fail doing them.

Too bad I have no chance winning any of those above mentioned prizes. I do not care enough about Glocks to buy one but I will take one as a prize

I'm not trying to offend you here brother just trying to help. Here is the big one, when someone reaches a goal or accomplishs something no matter what it is you should be happy for them. I do see what your saying and it would probably annoy me too if people were fake with it but hey there are plenty of fake people in this world. Anyway my main point is, getting mad at people doing good for themselves is no way to think or live. When someone shoots better than me (fair and square) I congratulate them and I really am happy for them. That goes with anything as long as it makes them happy. When someone puts down a great weld at work, I let them know and I'll tell the Forman too that that guy is doing an awesome job. It feels good to be a cheerleader (for lack of a better word) and a motivator. If you want to break balls in a good way I'm all for that too. But, putting someone down and feeling negatively towards them for sharing their accomplishments is no way to live

i don't know about all the winners but the male winner has a picture (since removed) on instagram of himself with his collection of glocks.  pretty safe to say he will be using his winnings

Correct, did you read that paragraph? Being gay is not a goal or an accomplishment. Also where did I say ALL gays are freaks and child molesters? I was talking about the loud mouth assholes in the video that Vlad posted but you wouldn't get that because you assume things. I guess it's okay for them to give us labels that are not true but we can't do the same. Have you ever tried to have a real conversation face to face with someone like that? I have, they just push your buttons so hard you will want to punch them and that is exactly what they want.

 

Don't take everything else I said above as me trying to pull off being some goodie too shoes, I am an asshole when someone wants me to be. I am myself and not afraid to be. I never walk around on eggshells being scared I might offend someone. I will always go out of my way to help anyone who needs it and if someone doesn't like me I could care less, got more than enough true friends.

Not trying to twist any words. It was an honest mistake. Vlad made a post about your comment also, so I'm not the only one who read your post and came to that conclusion. It did seem that you were calling them freaks and child molestors because they are gay and that's just wrong. I APOLOGIZE! I still don't see what the problem with a child seeing a bunch of protestors. That's a great moment to educate them about the freedom to assemble. Again I apologize as I am sensitive towards homophobia as my brother is gay, and was even attacked and stabbed just for being gay.
