Combat Auto 174 Posted October 13, 2016 Folks, I have a dual caliber (38 super and 45 acp) 1911 being built. I am having a complete second top end (slide, barrel, etc.). When it goes to the FFL to be transferred, how is this documented? Is it as simple as listing both calibers on the permit in the caliber section? Or is there some crazy NJ-Law that I need to consider. Thanks,
T Bill 649 Posted October 13, 2016 Declare one or the other. No different than when you buy a conversion set up. Interesting dual caliber for 1911 as ramp angle is different for each caliber. That is why you never see coversions for these calibers.

fslater 62 Posted October 14, 2016 I'd list it as the frame was originally listed. Its actually staying the same isn't? Your just having a slide assembely with barrel for another cal made no?
Bt Doctur 188 Posted October 15, 2016 My .45 is registered as a .45 pistol, when I install the .22 conversion it is still registerd as a .45 pistol.
9X19 125 Posted October 31, 2016 You are safe listing either way...stripped lower receivers are listed as multi caliber by a lot of manufacturers becase they are not yet built and there are caliber options for the builder to choose his build using the same receiver.
