well idiots here who moved next to high school are trying to get the pa announcer at sports games and band to be quieter

Are they going to ask the crowd not to yell or cheer too loud as well? When I was a kid the people who lived around our football field used to sit out on the roofs of their houses on Friday nights and watch the game.

klownpuncher,

Thank you for posting this letter. I was just made aware of this yesterday. Could you tell me where you took the picture? Was it posted on Banger's Door?

My buddy took the pic. He said it was on the door that goes into the range sign in room.

You know, back in the day the solution was to offer the home owner free tickets. I'm pretty sure all those people that live across the street from Pocono Raceway make bank on race day, what with all the parking signs I've seen.

Guess i'm just a lemons from lemonade person.

Your right but, That isn't the case unfortunately. I can name many local weekend racetracks in many states that have gone away due to the power and dollars of A builder, or homeowners with an Attorney.  I'm not just talking in NJ either, As I spent many years on A lot of those tracks in many States and now they are gone.     Nothing even your own property is immune due to the reason I stated or Imminent domain laws

It WAS a nice shop, attached to a really nice range facility

(I've been a member at SJSC since 2005)

Before Bangers opened, I questioned (in my own mind) how it could be a money making operation, given that the members of SJSC had gotten used to bringing everything they would need for a day at the range.

If someone forgot their staple gun or ran out of targets, for example, another shooter would always be willing to help out.

But with the revelation that the owner of the shop, Chuck Berwick owed his landlord (and benefactor, the late John Aducat) $400K and was not repaying him, that goes a long way to explain how the shop stayed open as long as it did and was as nice as it was. You've got to sell a LOT of inventory to make $400K net.

I hope all those with money tied up in the bankruptcy don't have to take too bad a haircut.

I expect that those with guns on consignment in the now-closed shop will get their guns back eventually, but then, anything is possible.

    • I gave them a bank check. They accepted and cashed it. Its much harder to see if they cashed it, you have to call the bank, no way to check online, at least not at my bank. A Post Office money order you can go online and see if and when they cashed it.
    • Good evening, Can someone who has received a carry permit please give the dimensions of the card? Thanks
    • Appropriately, the keel of the USS Arizona (SSN-803) was laid today.
    • Adding to the points @Scorpio64 made above…I’ve always thought of the use of deadly force in self defense the way the Navy taught us, and beat into our heads…the mantra was: “Deadly force is the force that a person uses, which he/she knows, or SHOULD know, creates a substantial risk of causing death or serious bodily harm.  Its use is justified only under conditions of extreme necessity, as a last resort, when all lesser means have failed or cannot reasonably be employed.” They also maintained that the level of force you use must be reasonably proportional to the force being used against you. In other words, you can’t shoot a person who throws a rock at you and calls you an asshole.  If someone is attempting to drag you into a van and haul you off, or is waving a firearm at you, it’s reasonable to assume they are intent on causing you death or serious bodily harm…and the use of deadly force against them is appropriate.    It’s a complex set of decisions for YOU to make, in a very short amount of time, in what will probably be an extremely stressful situation.  You WILL be dragged in front of a grand jury at minimum if you make the decision to employ deadly force.  At worst, you’ll be on trial for homicide of some flavor.    I think everyone should make themselves intimately familiar with the justified use of deadly force in their state, as they differ slightly. Some states require you to retreat until you are unable to retreat any more (and I’m not completely sure WHAT that means!). Some states, like Texas and Florida, have stand your ground laws. This doesn’t mean you can Willy-Nilly shoot someone who assaults you, it just means you don’t have the duty to retreat, but you have to meet the force with an appropriate counter force.    It’s not an easy equation, and a lot of responsibility. One way or another, your life will be drastically affected by the decision. I personally hope I never have to make that decision.
    • I may agree with you but in NJ the criminal has the upper hand. If you decide to use your pistol for self defense, a liberal prosecutor could still indict you. Then it goes to trail and the jury will decide whether your action was reasonable or not. If you watch old Westerns the outlaw must draw first or its murder. Pretty much the way it is here in NJ.
