dillon rt1500/rt1200

Recommended Posts

I currently trim my 223 brass using the little Crow Gunworks WFT chucked into a drill press. It works good but hurts my hands after a while.. I am toying with the idea of getting a Dillion rt1500 to run on my Lock 'n Load AP. According to youtube it is compatible with my press, For those of you that have this trimmer I have a couple of questions.

  1. Does the resizer/cutting die come with the rt1500 or do I have to buy that separately?
  2. Do you need to debur/chamfer the brass after processing for blaster ammo?
  3. Is the difference between the rt1500 vs. rt1200 only the ability to trim only .223(rt1200) vs .223 & 300BLK(rt1500)

Thanks!

Carl

1. Purchase separately

2. I don't however my brass has a TiN coated expander mandrel run through the necks after trimming then they get tumbled in media before loading.

3. The RT1200 is DCed and the RT1500 replaced it.  I wouldn't mess with the 1200 even if it was available simply because the 1500 is that much beefier.

I'm in a similar boat where trying to trim, debur and chamfer is hurting my fingers and hands.  I am close to breaking down to buying a 1500 as well.

What expander are you using?
