RobCo 16 Posted January 11, 2017 Has anyone purchased any firearms from out of state off armslist.com ? I have a possible great deal but have never bought anything from armslist.com I know it will have to be shipped to an FFL here in NJ Thanks
BMWR12 35 Posted January 11, 2017 Usually they are scams. People steal pics of a high end gun like a $8,000 K43 rifle and offer it for $2000. Someone will believe they are selling it at that price and send the money and up with no rifle.
DirtyDigz 1,811 Posted January 11, 2017 It's not impossible to have a non-scam deal on armslist, but you have to exercise a much higher level of vigilance than at gunbroker.com.
BMWR12 35 Posted January 11, 2017 Local FTF deals are usually ok.
capt14k 2,052 Posted January 11, 2017 No chance I would do armslist deal shipped from out of state. I bought a SVT once on gunbroker and the next day it was listed on armslist for sale in MS and KS. Try other forums. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Jim Hartman 31 Posted January 11, 2017 I would probably buy an out of state gun as long as it was from an ffl. Otherwise don't do it, its not worth the risk.
JT Custom Guns 956 Posted January 11, 2017 Look to see if the seller is verified / premium. That means they are registered w/ Armslist and are trackable - they are usually the dealers who regularly sell on Armslist.
RobCo 16 Posted January 11, 2017 thanks all for your input Just another hazard we have in the People's Republic of NJ is that older and used firearms are not as readily available to us as other states
remixer 1,645 Posted January 11, 2017 We've sold plenty of firearms on Armslist.. Like everything else Buyer beware. (FYI: If they want payment sent to Nigeria i would be worried.)
RobCo 16 Posted January 12, 2017 Thanks all It ended being pointless anyway, after I sent the "seller" a possible option of using an escrow service. They just stopped responding which just showed that either they weren't interested in dealing with it or it was a scam. I tend to believe it was just BS. $300 for an unmolested Winchester M1917 seemed to be too good..ah well.
