Scotch plains area

I'm in Scotch Plains also.   I find most ranges to be about 45 minutes.   I like OBRPC but no longer a member.   Currently a member of Shongum Sportsments Assoc., but that's an hour.

Easton Game and Fish Association (EFGA) is prob about an hour from you. Outdoor range little over 10 minutes from first exit off 78 once you cross into PA (Phantom Fireworks exit). Very affordable and not much further than many NJ ranges.

3 covevered pistol ranges, one is rimfire only, a 100 yard rifle range and an "action pit" where you can practice drawing and firing and also shoot shotgun.

Yes it's further but for price it can't be beat and it's not that much further than most ranges in NJ. If you would like tour IM me and I can guest you in.

Also look for the shotgun shotout clay shots we have in Clinton few times each year. It's right off 78 at the Clinton Wildlife Preserve Area (exit 13). Lot's of fun!

Hmmm... do I remember an earlier thread saying EFGA was also building a 250 yd range? If so, do you know what's the ETA on that? Just curious. I want to try out some rifle shooting in Spring and have that range "tucked in the back of my mind" - because it's still a very affordable outdoor range from what I understand.

Based on the speed of them getting club steel for members, I expect the 250yd range will be completed approximately 3 months after the sun burns out.

I've heard rumors of a 200/250/300yd range for 4 or 5 years, and every time someone says anything at all about a date, that date comes and goes and no word at all about anything.  I think there may have been a single line about it in their mailer.  That's about the most official thing I've heard.  Or maybe it was just wishing and hoping real hard, and I just imagined it.

Would be nice to have - I'd spend the majority of my time on the 250 instead of the 100, and would hopefully clear up some of the other areas that are always crowded on weekends...even though they'd probably still manage to close down all the ranges for events
