BBQ rigs

Recommended Posts

I am curious to see what some of us here (and mipafox) would use as a BBQ rig. I have my SA TRP 1911 in a DeSantis leather holster that is just perfect. I'll post a picture when I get a chance.

What do you gents have?

Always wanted a Big Green Egg, but the cost and weight has kept me away.

For a straight smoker, I don't think you can beat a Weber Smokey Mountain for the money.  I've picked up several over the years.  The 18" is probably the best fit for most people, but the 22" is nice if you want extra space at the sacrifice of some efficiency.

I picked up a Weber  26" kettle grill last season.  I think it's the perfect size grill.  Plenty of room for indirect smoking and more than enough room for direct grilling.  I've made everything from ribs to wings to rib roasts on this thing.  If I could only pick one (oh, the horror) this would be it.  Or a Big Green Egg....

Used to have a cheap Thermos brand. Now a Weber top o line summit.

The thermos gave of way more heat for winter grilling.

And a Sig 229 stainless elite. Still trying holsters. Or my j frame silver air sumtin with aftermarket rosewood

Okay so....what is a BBQ rig?

Also, I have a Weber Spirit E-330 LP.  I'd love to have a Genesis, but the Spirit is more than what I need to grill for my wife and I.  Unfortunately, even though I keep it covered, the island of Guam is not easy on anything that stays outside.
