It is never easy making that decision but you made the right call. Putting down an animal that is sick and or suffering is the kindest last gesture anyone can make. Ive had to put down 4 of my own dogs and it sucks. I have found that for me personally the best way to move forward is to get another dog. Not to replace your late dog, no dog will ever replace another, but it gives you a very good distraction. If a new dog is in the cards for you please consider a rescue if at all possible.

fishnut 2,358 Posted August 16, 2017 http://mashable.com/2017/08/15/bear-attacks-dog/#0XqhL9Y3OaqW Pup was lucky the owner was there. Kinda sounds like someone was shooting a BB gun or something to try and scare the bear off.
