Freedom Ordnance 9mm carbine

Recommended Posts

This looks like possibly the carbine i have been hoping for - not ugly as a Clinton female, 9mm, glock mags, and $600 price point. I don't know shit about this company though. I know they used UTG stock and rail, but need to keep cost down somehow I guess. 100% US made is bonus.

Anyone know about this company?

Why do all 9mm AR's magazines just look wrong to me? Why do they all slant towards the hand grip rather than protrude straight down or away like a MPX or a CZ scorpion?

Because the ones that take Glock magazines have to match the grip angle of the Glock magwell. The MPX and CZ take proprietary magazines.

They have to keep the grip angle of the pistol they were designed for or they won't function.

If you used Uzi mags, they would be straight. Unfortunately Glock mags followers are angled for proper feeding of the round at Glock's grip angle - ergo, the magwell has to mimic that for reliable feeding.

Very interesting that you should post that, as I've been looking longingly at this the last couple of days:

Pretty sure I'm going to end up getting it.

I was thinking about one of these as well. Missed a couple good deals on used ones on the forum here in the Marketplace.

Still looking....

Classic Arms has a 9mm Carbine that takes Glock Mags. Price is $599 was considering one but decided to go with used Scar instead that I just bought from an Estate at a good price.  I am not aware of any milspec 9mm carbines so you need to be careful

In the early 1980s Colt developed and manufactured a 9mm Sub Gun (current model numbers R0991 and R0992) on an AR type platform at the request of the USMC for use with their Fleet Security Forces. They are built to a "mil-spec"and use proprietary magazines based on Uzi mags.

I have found them to be unreliable with anything other than .mil 9mm ball ammo.

Interesting.... but why not just build your own 9mm Upper?

It would be cheaper and you can have exactly what you want.  Like an AR
