sroc112 19 Posted April 22, 2017 After one trip to the range I noticed what appears to be the coating or film on the locking block pin peeling off. When I take the slide off and look at the pin, I can see silver and there is a small piece of the black on the pin hanging off. I was under the impression these pins were plastic but this makes it seem it is some type of metal with a black finish on it. Not quite sure why this would happen but I am looking to replace it and hope it doesn't happen again. The Glock factory parts on glock store.com are in fact manufactured by Glock, correct? I know there are some aftermarket pun kits on the site but ideally looking to keep this stock and factory.
Old School 611 Posted April 22, 2017 Hey go polish your shoes I see a scuff on them. That's nothing. The pins are coated steel. Get a SS pin kit and they all will be bright. No worries
sroc112 19 Posted April 22, 2017 lol it's not that I care about how it looks! I just figured for it to peel after 150 rounds perhaps something was wrong, or something hitting it that shouldn't be.

Vlad G 345 Posted April 22, 2017 The only plastic pin is the backstrap/trigger housing pin. The locking block and trigger pins are steel and they will scuff/scratch/etc. It's a tool not a beauty queen, if it works leave it alone.
sroc112 19 Posted April 22, 2017 Lol just to be clear - I was never concerned about it not looking nice. It's just something that I have not seen before and was making sure it was not a flaw that would cause other issues.
