TrentonShooter 22 Posted April 25, 2017 Hey just looking to get suggestions on the best fixed stocks for NJ compliant ARs. Tell me what you guys like and your experience with them. Pictures and links if possible.
Screwball 483 Posted April 25, 2017 ACE does a few good ones... Magpuls are ok... I just hate pinned stocks.
shooter28 153 Posted April 25, 2017 I have the magpul fixed carbine stock on my AR. Works for me.
Moto102 7 Posted April 25, 2017 I love the ace stocks as well. Strong and well built. I have them in both sizes
High Exposure 5,661 Posted April 25, 2017 Standard A2 has been working fine for a lot of folks for years. Sully Stocks are very nice. Mine is comfortable and rock solid. Hard to beat the Magpul Fixed MOE stock for the money. The new Hera arms CQR stock is interesting. I haven't gotten hands on one yet but I hear good things. It's also unique if your looking for something different - and while it is a fixed stock, you can adjust length by adding and removing spacers.
SuRrEaLNJ 294 Posted April 25, 2017 I went with the Magpul FCS to not have to pin. no its not an ar, but its still a comfortable stock
Vicious 138 Posted April 25, 2017 +1 Magpul fixed MOE stock, I really like it. I am going to try an A1 on my next build.
Maksim 1,504 Posted April 25, 2017 I had both, the Ace and now the Magpul Fixed Carbine. For a shorter guy/gal, the Magpul FC is pretty nice. Good build quality for the price and has a shorter length of pull. For a smaller rifle, ie 14.5+ brake and lower and on the lighter side, not a problem. With heavier rifles, you will have a big balancing issue. The Ace, I had the fixed full length, was a great stock. A pain in the butt to slide on the foam piece, but was good. A tad long for my taste... but solid.
Vlad G 345 Posted April 25, 2017 Maks makes a valid point, "best" is way too subjective and relative. Do you have T-rex arms or King-Kong arms? Do you have giraffe neck or a penguin one? Narrow face or broad face? Are you using irons dots or scopes? All those variables can change what best is. Then you have personal preferences about cheek rests, butt plate angles and materials, balance and weight, etc, etc.
lexcruiser 12 Posted April 26, 2017 I have the EFX A1 on one of my rifles. Like it a lot (not my picture) -
Maksim 1,504 Posted April 26, 2017 Forgot to add, one of the best I had was a Vltor fixed stock. Here is the new version. https://www.vltor.com/shop/ar/stocks/arm-rifle-stock/
Vlad G 345 Posted April 26, 2017 Side note for problem Maks doesn't have .. the Vltor stock is horrid if you have beard.
