2% of U.S. Counties Had 51% Of the Murders!

Recommended Posts

And 54% had ZERO murders! Those are two results of a new report released yesterday from John Lott's Crime Prevention Research Center.

Take a good look at the map in close up in a separate tab. You can clearly see NJ counties. Their classifications will most likely not surprise you. Up here in Sussex County there's not much happening. But I know for a fact we have plenty of firearms.

If this map doesn't convince someone that murder is a people problem, not a gun problem, nothing will.

Nothing will.  They'll give all these animals a pass by blaming the tool.

Rant on,

One of the greatest marketing ploys ever pulled off on a population/culture/race has to be the democrats continued enslavement of African-Americans. There was a little skirmish fought back in the 19th century by northern REPUBLICANS against southern DEMOCRATS that were perpetuating the crime against humanity that was slavery. To be fair, The Union wanted workers for the nascent industrialization of the big cities of the north while the entrenched agriculture economy based in human trafficking of the south wanted to maintain the status quo.

Nonetheless, in a brilliant shell game, the enslavers convinced the formerly enslaved that democrats were their champions. Against all common sense an entire demographic bought this "fake news" and their liberators were cast as their oppressors.

Fast forward to today. Every dead or dying community in the United States has been under Democratic rule for at least 50 years. The constituents of these communities continue to be enslaved by the ones that institutionalized slavery 300 years ago. This demographic has traded independence and self reliance for their votes every November. Their taskmasters reward those votes by perpetuating the modern day chains of entitlements, welfare and other institutionalized forms of dependence. The plan is the same as it was 300 years ago; To gain wealth, power and self-perpetuity on the back of those you enslave.

Whether you shackle and chain people or trap them in dangerous and oppressed ghettos, you doom generations of a demographic/culture/race to dependence that they repay with votes.

It's so plain to see that it's pathetic. Those that have gainful employment and create wealth, actually fund their own demise through taxes they pay. Taxes that those in power use to buy votes from the constituents conditioned to viewthe wealth-creators as the enemy.

It takes "taxation without representation" to a whole new level.

As they say, our forefathers would be shooting by now.

I would be interested to see these stats as a percentage of population. It's very difficult to have a bunch of murders in a county of ten people.

I'm not saying that gun ownership does not correlate with murders or lack thereof, but 10 murders could be an epidemic or a really low rate depending on the population.

they are also all Dem areas if you notice

Almost. Maricopa county in Arizona is the one that stands out, but they've got other problems that most of the other areas don't really have.

Interestingly, most, if not all, other "studies" use murder "rates" per 100,000 residents. So you can find those numbers most anywhere.

The reason these "absolute" numbers are relevant is because it's looking at clusters of murders. The rankings by absolute number is, IMHO, a more accurate picture of the violence extant in these cities.

Demographers pass off these "rates" as a proxy for "risk". I view these rates as nothing more than a density vs. crime study. Not risk. For example, since the time when media outlets tallied war-related casualties, they didn't quote them per x active soldiers. They just quoted absolute numbers. The theory is that using rates minimizes human lives. I agree with that. Add the particularly Democratic Party penchant for distorting census numbers, I have a tough time trusting the veracity of murder "rates". Additionally, your intuitive approach to say 10 murders could be viewed differently in a town of 10,000 vs a city of 8 million is reasonable. But I expand that idea with "controllability" factor. If you have a person fly off the handle and kills 2 people in a small town, you can imagine that it was an isolated event and chances are slim that it would be repeated any time soon. Yet when you look at 762 murders in Chicago it seems an insurmountable challenge. Halving the numbers of murders, which would be fantastical, would still leave almost 400 people slaughtered. Just as bad.

Numbers don't even scratch the surface of telling the story in these war-zones.

As for Maricopa county, as you mentioned, there are a major unique issues in that part of the country. From the political atmosphere to the crime culture, this area of the country is a challenge for everyone.
