FWIW the maximum age is now 40. Used to be 37.
capt14k 2,051 Posted May 10, 2017 If I was younger I would do it in a heartbeat. Especially since it means being able to carry in NJ lol.Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Screwball 483 Posted May 10, 2017 If you go on USAJobs, constant positions open. Some offer specific postings (an actual town), and others do areas along the border. I just applied for two; one in Maine, other New Mexico/West Texas. Just took the one test yesterday, and have one Friday (up in Metuchen). There are different titles, and even though it is a similar position in the same agency, two different tests. The first one was easy, like 90 questions, but those questions where you answer and then second guess yourself. Nothing L/E related... just reasoning, math, and grammar. Study guides are on their website. I will say, get transcripts ready and in PDF form. Have your resume squared away, and make sure to modify it for how they want it written (they want the date formatted a certain way... do it that way). Also, if you are looking at a 05 level position, see if you had good enough grades for their academic entry into the 07 level. In short, have a GPA over 3.0 or 3.5 (forget which, so look it up in the job description), and it works similar to having some graduate level work. The process is a little difficult, as there isn't a lot of places here for the various parts of the investigation. Newark does do stuff for the interview and polygraph (one, I did have to choose Yonkers), but closest place for the PT test is Harpers Ferry. Completely on the applicant to get out there.
