Ray, you are nuts.

Miami Vice had some pretty good gun handling.

Hell, most of Michael Mann's stuff was all good as far as gun handling. He was a shooter.

Was going to say, even the original series of Miami Vice is terrific as far as guns go.

HE, I was just about to post this but you beat me to it.  I used to show it in training and ask my guys if they think they could have got this guy if they were the one holding the gun on the hit man.

The rest of Miami Vice has pretty good gun handling even though I remember Tubbs firing 7 shots from his Model 49.

I also chuckled at how Tubbs wound up in Miami.  He was a rogue NYPD detective in Miami to avenge his brother's death.  So Metro Dade invited him to come to work there? I don't think so.  But it was TV not real life.

Expendables 1, 2, 3.... Gotta love the AA12 shotgun...Sound of it is a little unreal. But still cool.
Also, Sly's 1911 was made custom for him by Kimber. A Kimber Gold Combat II .45ACP Limited Edition...

Earlier episodes of Criminal Minds, Joe Mantegna uses a Springfield Custom Pro 1911 A1... He is also a big fan of Cabot 1911s...

NCIS, Gibbs now carries a 1911... His father's old gun. Originally I thought it was Mike Frank's S&W 1911... but unsure of his father's model.

Probably will catch hell for it, despite some of the picks in this list, but Proof of Life has one of my favorite gun battles.

I will have to think of other movies, but right now, Heat tops my list.

Gratuitous gun porn: Matrix lobby scene and T2 minigun window scene

And turnoffs are any movie I have to yell TRIGGER DISCIPLINE! at the screen.

Oh my, how did we forget Lord of War.

you mean Warlord?

Thank you, but I prefer it my way.

Cage plays one of my favorite Russians but, then I have a lot of favorite Russians.

And, let us not forget, "I want the gun of Rambo"

BTW that's a true story.

enemy at the gates has cheesy cgi graphics, especially during the water crossing scenes, and cheesy effects like gasoline fireballs emitting from barrels of tanks. The story line is kinda cheesy with all the romance tension between commisar danilov and vasily.  The ease at which they move around the city seems unrealistic..really the entire story line seems unrealistic.  Look at the scene where khrushchev had the officer kill himself.  All of the officers outside seemed like bumbling fools.  I know this is based on a alleged real event, but it very well could have been russian propaganda making up this "duel" to raise morale.  On its own it might seem like a pretty cool movie, but when you stand it up next to something like saving private ryan, band of brothers, or the pacific... it doesnt hold up at all.

Just watched John Wick Chapter 2.

Hands down the most authentic gun movie I've seen. There's one extra, if you buy it on Apple TV, about the guns and Taran goes through the 3-guns. The 1911 bit is well done and any gun person picks up on the joke and honoring of the old warhorse.

I can't see any gun person not seeing this movie. The extras are as good as the film and Reeves takes guns, knives, martial arts and cars seriously.

The sommelier scene alone is awesome.

As for the reloads, they were tactical and I saw multiple slides locked back. I did count the shots with the Kimber and it was 7 every time. His chamber checks were purposeful and professional. There's actually a short film about the film called "Chamber Check" as an extra.

Go buy it.

I bought it on iTunes but need to watch the extras.  I commented on the Gun choices in another thread--specifically the Glock product placement.

I thought it it was fantastic and all the training reeves does shows.

So in sinners and saints only those two guys were the good guys and all others were the bad guys?   I hope so because those guys running toward the fire were gonna get shot in back the guys behind them.   I would only guess that yiu are not supposed to be shooting while running and your partner is running in front of you

and the head shot with the rifle from 10 feet away?   It's not his rifle he has no idea where the zero is at close range with riser sights.

That was actually a pretty good representation of a fairly standard IAD to break contact.. The 4 badguys immediately exit their car and spread out creating 4 individual targets to worry about, all the while hammering their adversary with overwhelming fire superiority offering their buddy a chance to break out. It looks like they are in each other's way due to the camera angle, but they had pretty good individual fire lanes.

As to the headshot -yeah it's still Hollywood. But realistically, at that distance with an optic equipped rifle, mechanical offset is mechanical offset. Put the dot just above his hairline and press. I could grab any one of my guy's rifles and be confident to make that shot even though their rifle isn't zeroed to me specifically.
