CZ 527 - Anyone have one? What do you think?

Recommended Posts

Have the CZ 527 American in .223.     I wanted to have one bolt gun and opted for this one.

Fantastic little rifle.  Accurate as heck, lightweight. quality build, great wood..      It even makes me look good.....

Can't go wrong.

I have a rather unusual 527 (in .223) called the 527 Royal. Has a rather unique stock configuration meant for offhand shooting. Single set trigger. Very European looking. I believe fewer than 1000 of these in the country - maybe fewer than 600. One of the included scope rings was stripped and I have yet to replace it, so can't tell you how it shoots - but when I saw it, I just had to have it...

If you're looking for one, RTSP has (or least had) one available on the rack when I was in there a week or so ago.

This little rifle recently caught my eye and despite not having a huge love of bolt guns, I want one desperately...

Anyone have one? What are your thoughts?

You're thinking about 7.62X39 I guess.

Sweet, thread the barrel and shoot heavy subsonics with a can.

Sorry forgot you're in Jersey...

Wow that was cold.

I have one of each, .223 and 7.62x39. Cool little rifles. Didn't know until recently about the set trigger on these. Have not taken them to the range to see the difference in trigger feel using it "normal" or in the set position. I bought them as plinkers.

I’m still debating this rifle.

But the Ruger American Ranch in .223 takes AR mags now and is calling me.

The “A” answer is to get both, but, which one first.....

agree.....I'm seriously thinking of dumping my AR side charging x39 to buy one.

Is it a Gibbz upper? PM me if you are gonna get rid of it.

no, BCA....  If you are doing a x39, it has to mimic the 47:)

My Ruger American Ranch is in x39 and although it doesn't take AK magazines or have fancy wood it is cheaper AND it DOES make for an excellent hunting rifle.  Or field rifle, as some might say.

Ah OK. I’m looking for the Gibbz because it will work with the Ares/Fightlight SCR.

I’m looking for a “fighting” bolt gun. Light, handy, fast, and mag fed.

The fact that I can buy 2 Rugers, for one CZ, is also quite appealing.

fightlight looks pretty cool

I don't think the ruger compares to the cz, at least not the bolt and barrel.

It is magazine fed, using mini 30 magazines.

I have a gut feeling that the CZ is just gone be a smoother, more refined example of what I am looking for.

You will not be disappointed with a CZ or a Ruger American Predator.  It's just a matter of how much you want to spend to not be disappointed.  If you love the sexy CZ, buy it.  If you just want a tool, buy the RAR Predator.

I loved my RAR for two reasons. 1) the trigger,  2) cold bore.  It wasn't a sexy rifle, but it always put the first shot where I wanted it.

I don't know how I missed this thread. I like the Iron Sites on the CZ as opposed to the Ruger.
