Mrs. Peel 7,148 Posted June 7, 2017 OK, this was nice to see... especially in these days of rising tensions between police and citizen activists. A 3-year old girl in the Kansas City area wants to be a cop, so she sets up a lemonade stand to earn money to buy her own mini-cop uniform... and by midday she has her uniform. Family posts it to Facebook... local police station puts out the word and over the course of the remaining afternoon, they have 50+ cops showing up from all over the area to the lemonade stand... including members from the mounted unit (with their horses, natch)... and even a police chopper buzzing overhead. Too funny. And great PR! http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/good-news/911-lemonade-emergency-officers-visit-wannabe-cops-stand/ar-BBCa0hk?li=AAk6ORB&ocid=spartanntp

diamondd817 823 Posted June 8, 2017 Wasn't there a thread on here a couple years ago about a cop giving a lemonade stand operator a summons/fine for selling lemonade? Which is it? Is operating a lemonade stand illegal or legal? Can't have it both ways. We have laws or we don't.

Anyways, that was in TX where a state law regulated sale of certain food items. This is MO but I dont know if MO has any similar laws. Even in TX, the law did not prohibit lemonade stand, it simply put restrictions on hazardous food items. If TX were ever to fine little girls for running lemonade stand, I sure hope some pro bono lawyer sticks it to TX by demanding them to prove lemonade is a hazardous food item that poses public health if not kept under certain temperature for the period of sale by the little girls. Back to topic, cool story. Love it.

I bet there is enough preservative in there to keep the consumers"fresh" for ages without refrigeration.
