I see it now, it's outside over the door. That's awful, what was over that? A portico? Or was it just wrapped with coil, really horribly?

That's not an Iris in the bond films. That's a first person view from a bullet in a chamber. The "iris" you are seeing is the rifling of the barrel i.e.: the lands and grooves.
