JR Carbine

Recommended Posts

I have one as well.  Shoots good, bear to take apart and clean but ultrasonic does a great job.  What first interested me was the FCG is all AR based, as well as the barrel mounting.  Will take AR pistol grips and stocks. Both handle and ejection port can be mounted to either side but not quite up to par on how they did it.  No LRBHO feature, just a straight blow back like a 10/22.  Downfall is bolt and magwell assembly, kind of finicky if not installed properly.  I do not have any FTE/FTF issues with it.  I have both the 9 and 45 kits for it.  I will keep it and shoot it, but if I was looking for one today, I would look at some others first.  Lone Wolf, Thureon, and FX-9 sold by Classic Arms.  Originally purchased for using Glock mags as I have this crazy thing about PCCs that shoot same mags/ammo as my handguns esp when when shooting steel.  Addicted to timed steel events, when not shooting clays.

I purchased one last year and so far am happy with it.  Model # JRJAxxxxxx. The fact it uses my existing Glock mags (any size 9mm) and my 9mm ammo was a deciding factor for me.  So far I have shot 500 rounds through it without significant issues.  (I believe the older ones had issues which have since been corrected.)   I find dis-assembly and re-assembly easy even though mine has a nut holding on the stock and is not their newer quick attachment coupling version.  As with my other firearms, I plan on keeping it indefinitely.  So have ordered various spare parts from their webiste to keep on hand.

I purchased it from Garden State Shooting Center who had ordered it for me.

I was looking to purchase one but went with the Sub2000 instead. But I seen an AR9 that is probably gonna be my next buy. It's the freedom Ordnance FX-9 check it out Classic firearms .com sell them exclusively. Takes Glock magazines and has all the features a regular AR has ever. The last round bolt over feature. With a few tweaks it can be NJ legal ( ships with 32 round mag, flash hider and collapsible stock. I have contacted them and they said they would ship to a NJ FFL that can agree to make the compliance work and they would ship it without the magazine.

    • I very seriously doubt this has anything to do with terrorism.    1) Harbor pilots are VERY seriously vetted, and highly trained. Not to mention extremely well paid. My experience knowing a few of them, and knowing how they are recruited and screened tells me that there is a slim to highly unlikely chance that a harbor pilot would have participated in anything like that.    2) Maintenance of foreign flag ships is well known to be dubious. Especially these days. These were NOT US flag, Jones act sailors. It was (to my understanding) a largely Indian crew on that ship, with a Ukrainian Captain. Indian crews are not exactly known for being stellar.    3) The bunkers (fuel) these ships use is ‘Bunker C’, which is a heavy, dirty fuel oil that can, and usually is, pretty contaminated. This stuff ain’t your car grade gasoline or diesel fuel. It’s nasty.   It requires nearly constant filter changes and maintenance to the engine/generators. The ship took on fuel prior to departing port, which would stir up all kinds of shit in the fuel tanks, which would contribute to particulates in the fuel lines/filters.    4) I’d say the posting of the chief engineer for Maserek above was pretty spot on as far as chain of events.    This was a shitty accident, with horrible timing and outcome. Not a terror attack.
    • I saw Lara's interview on Bannon's War Room, and that gave me pause for thought. Her conjecture depends primarily on the veracity of her sources. Regardless, if it's not applicable in any way to this ship disaster, the methods described seem valid to me. And worthy of consideration for the future. As I said before, IMO something is coming.
