5 rounds.  Wonderful.    Why not just make it zero rounds so we don't have to pretend what your agenda is any longer?

I fully expect them to go for the five as well as go with what MA is attempting, anything that operates like a "assault weapon" will be treated as such.  They'll try for a full semi-auto (across the board, not just rifles) ban or at minimum float the idea.

NY tried that with 7 rounds. It was ruled unconstitutional since nobody makes a 7 round mag. I think they can own 10 rd and can't put in more than 7 or something ridiculous like that. I can't wait to move out of this cesspool.

That was struck down by the District Court in upstate NY. You can put 10 rounds in your reduced capacity magazine.

Yesterday my mom was telling me that when they lived in freehold they (the government) would go door to door looking for unregistered dogs. If they do that, I'm sure they'll come knocking for your guns. Remember that every time someone tells you they won't come knocking.

Until that happens my 15rd mags that came with my guns will stay locked in my safe.

They still do that in my town.   We're off the beaten bath, but one year we were late in renewing our dog's license and the town sent someone to the house.   "Knock Knock Knock"  "Bark Bark Bark"  "Here's your ticket" was the way that interaction went down (the inspector didn't need to come in the house, the dog 'confessed').

Year's earlier, we were given a plush toy sheltie that looked a bit like our dog.  When our dog passed this year, we put the stuffed dog in what had been our dog's favorite spot looking out the window.   We didn't renew the dog's license, of course, and didn't think more about it until we got another ticket in the mail, stating that the inspector had come to the house and confirmed we still had the dog.    We sent the unpaid ticket back, with a picture of the stuffed toy in the window and a note saying "Do you mean this dog?"    Never heard anything more about it.

I'm a lifetime NRA and a member of NJ2A but facts are facts.

(and what good they have done me but that is a topic for another thread)

In about nine weeks there will be a 10 round mag law in effect in NJ.

I still want to shoot legally in this state (law abiding citizen remember) so I'm prepared.

...are you?

I'm not sure what your saying, or what your point is.

NRA, ANJRPC, NJ2AS and all others are jokes of an organization. They had  almost 30 years to accomplish something, anything, and got nothing done at all. Not even one small victory. Why would I toss my away now on them? I may as well burn my cash if I want to waste it.

The cynical part of me thinks that businesses in NJ may even be happy about this. No more undercutting from those pesky bulk websites. Get ready for $1/round .223 for those fish man AR-15s (that you'll have to pay them $150 to neuter for you)

Yes, FFLs will like this.  Prices will go up.  Our buck tooth governor will be able to collect the sales tax.  Maybe additional taxes someday like cigarettes, alcohol and fuel have. Could lead to limiting quantities and logging who bought what and how much.  Pawn shops keep a detailed log as to who pawned what and when that goes into a master data base for cops to see.  Why not FFLs with ammo?  A lot of petty shit like that could come into play.  Where are the internet giants that are always claiming free commerce to ship their porn and sex toys at?  Where is Fedex and UPS at?  Revenues lost, FTC rights infringed.

NY recognizes 10 rounds "at a recognized range, whether you are there for recreation or for participating in shooting competitions, you may load the full ten rounds into any magazine you have. Starting on April 15, 2013, you are limited to putting 7 rounds in the magazine in all other locations."

Wonder how many people can load in their home for self-protection?

Spoke with my gunsmith today. Here is his opinion:
1. 10 round mags are almost certain.
2. Purchase ammo from internet: how is nj going to enforce it. If the store is in free state they don't give a damn about nj laws
3. The worst case scenario is if they go after semi-auto. With no grandfathering in NJ it will a real disaster for people. On that note he suggested to refrain from buying lowers for now.

nj is a small enough state that none of us is reasonably too far to go to pa to buy our stuff. why would one buy ammo here for extortion prices when one could just cross one of the bridges to free America and get it at normal prices?

ummmmmmmmmmmm  reloading - ?

If you have not prepared for this coming year - what in gods name were you waiting for ........  not u per se but a general statement.

Online stores do care about state law. Try and order pistol ammo online and they'll ask for your FPID. If it gets to onerous they'll just not ship here but they won't, by and large, ignore state law.

Of all the online stores I've ordered from, some do and some don't.

Of course it's still legal to ship to NJ. Whether they want to know you have a FPID is optional since the law isn't clear on that point at the moment.

When they outlaw Internet purchases within NJ entirely I believe that will be a different story. Just like stores won't ship 15+ magazines here now, the ammo sellers will probably stop honoring delivery to NJ addresses.

So the logo is true: You've got a friend in Pennsylvania! :D

(I already have mine lined up, thank you very much --- and will also be learning "reloading". Many ways to skin a cat).

Say that on Facebook and they'll report you.  Ask me how I know.

The courts, RIGHT NOW, might be our saving grace.

BEST not to talk about that, lest they ban that too

That definitely will try to ban reloading. Either outright, banning powder sales, or taxing powder sales to oblivion. Bring it on Murphy. Just more reasons for SCOTUS to fast track.

Ms Peel, it used to greet you at the 'border crossings' between PA and NJ.  I believe it said it best
