Another Successful SHOTGUN SHOOTOUT! Sunday, 9/17, Clinton WMA

Hi! I'm on a "firearms exploration" this summer... and having a blast (pun intended). No shotguns yet though... so, I'm proposing a September Shotgun Shootout. Hopefully, we'll be rewarded with nice weather/temps. Below, are instructions blatantly plagiarized from @Krdshrk- I assume the information is still accurate! 

Date Pushed to September 17!! Due to Hunter Education Training on the 10th. Thanks @T Billfor bringing that to our attention!

9 a.m. at the Clay range

Please try and bring everything you can in terms of gun(s), ammo, and clays!

A rough checklist of what to bring:

• Gun(s)
• Ammo (birdshot #7.5, 8)
• Clays (Walmart's in Clinton, Flemington, Branchburg and Phillipsburg generally stock them)
• Thrower if you have one
• Eyes and ears (including extras for your guests)
• Shell pouch
• Beverages/snacks
• Weather appropriate clothing & sunscreen
• Chair

Feel free to bring one or more guests... any experience level.  Beginners welcome!... Hey, I don't want to be the only one who can't hit a clay!

Gun Rules to Remember:

• Always treat a gun as if it was loaded
• Keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot
• Never point the muzzle at anything you're not willing to destroy
• Always be aware of your target/line of fire
• For this range, keep all guns unloaded until you're on the firing line

Be smart, be safe, and we will have a fun-filled day!

When you RSVP, please let us know:

• if you have a NJ hunting license (we need one to access the range; might be a good idea to have a 2nd in case someone needs to back out last minute)
• what equipment/supplies you're bringing
• if you'll have guests in tow & how many

Mrs Z is showing up with two others. Not including herself, she might break even if Van is exceptionally cool.

Dammit! Who can give me an answer on that? NJDEP, I presume? I'll call them tomorrow morning. I haven't been to the WMA myself, so I have no idea how large the shotgun range is, or how big their hunter education classes are, etc. If anyone else here has more insight, please weigh in! But, I will plan to call tomorrow anyway just to make sure it's not a problem.

We've done it while Hunter's Ed was at the range before but it made for a very crowded day

"Very crowded" doesn't sound particularly pleasant to me, quite honestly! I'm going to PM all the folks who RSVP'd and see if they're available for the following week, 9/17. Will circle back to you all! Sorry about this. Arrrrggghhhh!
