Red dot ready 1911

I've convinced myself that I'm going to finally buy a 1911. Still in the very early stages and know little outside of searching here (btw this is awesome if you haven't seen it https://www.1911addicts.com/threads/buyers-guide-for-all-you-1911-addicts.511/).

 

This will primarily be a range gun. Leaning 9mm just because ammo is so cheap. I'm also becoming increasingly interested in mounting a red dot on a handgun. I know a gunsmith can make this happen but it makes me cringe to think of drilling into a beautiful, new STI Trojan or SA range officer. Is there a recommended 1911 that is ready for a red dot out of the box that is comparable to those I mentioned above?

If you get a range officer  I think all you need is something like this

The range officer has an LPA rear sight cut. I don't know about any of the other guns sight cuts you asked about but Google is your friend.

I would certainly like to down the line just for fun, but am going to need to first find the time to start spending much more time at the range.
