ChauD 0 Posted October 25, 2017 Hi, this is ChauD from Egg Harbor Township (EHT). I stumbled into this forum when I poke around to see how long did it take for folks who live in EHT to get the approval for first time firearm permit application. The law says they should get back to you within 30 days. Well my application is at least 7 weeks now. It's more like 8 weeks and I still have not heard from EHTPD yet. Getting annoyed but what can I do besides keep waiting for my permit.
Krdshrk 3,872 Posted October 25, 2017 Have you called them to see what the hold up is?

JohnnyB 4,289 Posted October 25, 2017 I would call the PD first. My wife just got her first FID and a P2P and it took my VERY pro 2A PD 2 months to process. Turns out one of her references took over a month to send the letter back! Don't throw them to the sharks just yet.

TacMedic 3 Posted October 26, 2017 I did not, in any way, mean not to speak with local PD. This is good advice. I merely provided an alternative if unresponsive. I support our Police. Regards All

gleninjersey 2,134 Posted October 26, 2017 Hi and selcome to the forum! What are thinking about purchasing? First purchase? As others suggested just give a nice, friendly call to PD. "Just want to touch base and check on my application. Have both my references returned paperwork? Anything I can do to help complete the process?" It's unfortunate that we have to wait and play games to exercise what is a natural right. Can you imagine going to vote or waiting for an attorney to be appointed for your preotection by months and months? Even more ridiculous that we have to go through the process every time we want to purchase a handgun. Especially if you already own a few. Again, welcome to the forum. Good luck with your application!
