Please try and bring everything you can in terms of a gun, ammo, and clays.

A rough check list of what to bring:
- Gun(s)
- Ammo (birdshot #7.5, 8)
- Clays (Walmart's in Clinton, Flemington, Branchburg and Phillipsburg generally stock them)
- Thrower if you have one
- Eyes and ears
- Shell pouch
- Beverages/snacks
- Layer up and bring a warm jacket/gloves/hat depending on weather
- Chair

If you can't bring some things, we will have plenty of stuff there. If you've never shot a shotgun before, I and others will try working with you to be able to dust a clay by the end of the day!

Gun rules to remember:

Always treat a gun as if it was loaded
Keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot
Never point the muzzle at anything you're not willing to destroy
Always be aware of your target/line of fire
For this range, keep all guns unloaded until you're on the firing line

Be smart, be safe, and we will have a fun-filled day!

Today, I joined several buddies of mine down at M&M Hunting and Sporting Clays in Pennsville, NJ to shoot a round of 100 clays on a cool and overcast day.  It was the first time I had gone there and was very impressed with their facility and layout and can recommend it to all clay shooters who live in a realistic travel radius from it.  (It was a 1 1/2 hour drive each way for me from Summit, NJ).

Unfortunately, I will have to pass on this upcoming Shotgun Shootout on Nov. 12th.  I wish I could join all of you again, but the Mrs. and I will be up in Buffalo, NY that weekend to watch her beloved Buffalo Bills play the New Orleans Saints.  As a fair weather Eagles fan, I find most Bills fans to be hopelessly masochistic and fatalistic, but enjoy the football games anyway.  I hope you all have good weather for what I am sure will be a nice outing.

No, but there is another WMA range just 200 yards away where you can shoot buck or slugs.

 

EDIT:  btw, the firing line at the clay range is at least 400 yards from the water with 100 yards of trees buffering between the open field and water.  I know the clay range is restricted to 7.5 or smaller but shooting buck would not be unsafe.  Just say'n.
