Marlboro vs Manalapan

Recommended Posts

Looking to move into one of these two towns from N Jersey.

Will be moving to be closer to work, Newark yuck, and better schools.

Could anyone give any insight as to which is better ? schools seems pretty good in freehold regional district.

How are they for FID COA and pistol permits, wait times etc?

I will probably leave Cherry Ridge and Riverdale pistol club and join Old Bridge, any info on the range / club?

Any good gun/ammo stores in the area?

Thanks

I love have to check out the website for OBRPC. It will probably answer some of my questions like distances at the rifle range, target set up etc.

How crowded does it get ? Better days/times to go than others?

Any info you think I should know?

There are 50 yd and 100 yd rifle ranges.  Wooden target frames are provided.  Steel is allowed but follow the common rules on caliber/distance. There are also 5 pistol pits and a shotgun range.

There are competitions on most weekends that take up some or all of the ranges, you have to check the calendar.  Other than that I have never seen a crowd, usually very open during the week.

What age kids do you have? Manalapan k thru 8 is a bit better, 9 thru 12, both towns are good. Englishtown PD turnaround on FPID and PPP apps is around 6 weeks, not sure about Marlboro but should not be bad, the entire county is right leaning. Marlboro property taxes and house prices are a bit higher. 30 to 40 min from range 14. As FFLs go you have HGW, legend firearms, and the best FFL I have ever used, Steve at monmouth arms, all within 15 min drive. But to be honest, you can't go wrong with either Marlboro or Manalapan.
