We have a D idiot here.. but sent it anyways.

Same. Unfortunately we lost Garrett and have to deal with Gottheimer now...

although the real challenge will be the Senate. This bill will most likely clear the House.

im still gonna call menendez and Booker though...

They are still our representatives....

Sorry cough just spit my coffee out.....  they are NOT our reps.  We r not i would imagine on the public some, 'victim's, live in the alums etc....  no they are surely NOT our reps brother.

Gottheimer will not respond at all....

Menendez the criminal at large and the Barack 2.0 will not ever support this and will laugh at your call

It doesn’t matter that your call won’t sway their vote. Every call/vote request gets logged and it helps the data to see more 2A support.

my close friend works for a rep and told me how the system works. Obviously a hardcore Dem won’t switch votes, but it helps nonetheless.

please take the few seconds to call or email.

Make sure you bring up black, single mother, Shaneen Allen . And how her life was destroyed because NJ does not have reciprocity with any state. This will fix that

For those of you constantly negative nay sayers. I only have to point to our @ 30% voter participation. So if you’re not going to call, please stop trying to dissuade others from doing so. Should I put suicide hotline on hold for you?

how does this logging work? if we're calling the office of an anti, does he really have to turn those logs in? does he really keep them to begin with?

You should insist that Gottheimer support this "reasonable" legislation. They love that word when attempting to deny our rights, I'd advise repaying the favor. Plus, might as well occupy his time away from denying our rights.

It just shows that this is an issue that matters to their constituency. It’s better than showing nothing at all. Especially in NJ-05 where gottheimer only won by a few thousand votes!!

While contacting Democrats may be futile it's good to let them know we're out there.

We should definitely contact Booker and Menendez when it hits the Senate, but I agree that if your in a district with a Demorat, let them hear you. Eat up their resources to tell you that they'll "carefully consider your opinion" or whatever crap they feed constituents.

and encourage friends to call too. even if they don't own firearms. just don't tell anyone that they don't own......

You don't have to affected by it to be for or against legislation. You just have to have an interest in the direction of the country.

Bill as amended: H.R. 38

NRA news brief:

https://www.nraila.org/articles/20171201/us-house-of-representatives-to-vote-on-hr-38-the-concealed-carry-reciprocity-act-next-week

It looks like it passed out of committee, but govtrack.us has this listed for Dec 5th:

"Considered by House Committee on Rules A committee held a hearing or business meeting about the bill.

https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/115/hr38

Not quite sure if it's referred to another committee or to the floor for a full vote. Any insight would be appreciated.

      Hi Everyone
I just Read the article in the Political report in Shooting Illustrated about The July ruling By the US Court Of Appeals that found DC's "good reason" to be granted a CCW unconstitutional. Wouldn't the conflicting rulings between the DC Federal Court and the Jersey District Federal court force the SCOUS to a hearing to resolve the conflict? This is old news from back in July I'm just hearing about now. If its already been discussed  please direct me to the thread.
      Thanks

Can anyone help me find the stats on how many people in NJ apply for CCLs, and how many of those applications get rejected?
I'm having an online argument on a military forum (I'm a retired Marine).  Some guy thinks concealed-carry-restrictive states such as New Jersey and California are not violating the 2nd Amendment since they have a process for getting a permit, my response is it is a de facto ban if the vast majority of permit applicants are denied, but it's hard to make that argument without stats to back it up.

GAPP has another CCW class coming up. This one will be held at Shooters Sporting Center in Little Egg Harbor Township.... so all of you South Jersey shooters interested in CCW should consider coming to the class. Florida and Utah are the most sought after permits in the nation because they are among the most widely recognized. We provide all services necessary to get a concealed carry permit in both UT and FL including the applications, envelopes, passport photos, finger prints, notary seal, and UT CFP instructor seal... pretty much one stop shopping to get your CCW in multiple states. We also help you fill in the application so it wont be returned for being completed improperly. For a full course description, registration information, and other class dates, go to www.gappnj.com.

Just learned that I will be going to Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas next week for 10 days for work.  I plan to get my Texas License to Carry while there (formerly known as a CHL).
I have today submitted my non-resident application online at the Texas Dept of Safety website and am in the process of scheduling an appointment with Identogo/MorphoTrust(in Texas).

My question is has anyone here done this in the DFW area and have any recommendations for a training facility.  I did find several thru a Google search but wanted to check here for any recommendations.
Once I complete this process I will post a full write-up.

      Thanks

Some have recently said that now is not the time to file a case for carry in NJ, they said, we need to wait for the right time, the right case. but we, at the Po6 ask, when is it the right time, what is the right case? Is it post mortem? Maybe Carol's case would have been the "right case" Or maybe one of the other, now dead NJ innocent victims that waited for help?
Will you, or a loved one be the next one to be "seriously harmed" while waiting? What about when we had a favorable Federal court to the 2A during the bush years?
We appreciate everyone fighting in NJ, but we cannot rely on just 1 organization or person, this must be a multi-prong attack that includes Education, legislation, and litigation that may help in policy change in NJ.
Do you know it takes years to reach the SCOTUS on a case, or to settle a Federal case? We may very well be in to the 2020 election by the time we reach it there, and that is no guarantee we will make it to be heard. but we need to be in the fight, in the pipeline. If you’re not in the fight, you're not winning. It may be a California case, Hawai’I case, a D.C case or maybe the NJ case, we don’t know, but we must fight and be in it, to win it.

We, the Plaintiffs in this NJ case cannot gamble with politics, with time or with past lost cases, we must press on. We must fight. This challenge is different from the Drake case, it challenges the face of JN, the burden imposed on us meeting it and other challenges. Read the complaint attached, as the details are there. You may also follow us at www.partyofsix.org
Finally, the lead attorney will be in NJ on June 25th for a meet and greet, Q and A session at RTSP at 130 pm. Pass by and meet the parties involved
      Thank you for your support

    • This is a parlor trick, not training for a gunfight - unless you are fighting a bowling pin that doesn't move while you also stand still. Yes, there is absolutly an instinctive part to gunfighting, but it's isn't point shooting. It's instinctively evaluating your sight picture and determining if it is good enough to hit or not while being cognitively aware of your threat, your  backstop, the foreground, and everything else in between. The evaluation of your sights becomes instinct through training that breeds procedural memory. The situational awareness comes from being able to fight through stress. Through training you should strive to reach the 4th level of achievement when running the gun - unconcious competence. Sight alignment, sight picture, reloads, manipulating the safety, malfunction clearing, admin functions and movement with muzzle awareness should be on autopilot freeing up what little ability you have to actually think under stress for the big decision - shoot or no-shoot, communicate, and environmental discrimination (discerning cover, concealment, and positions of advantage). I have talked to many folks that have been in gunfights and I have been trained by some of the best gunfighters alive. They all say the same thing - if you don't use your sights you don't get hits. These are not guys that were involved in a single incident and survived. This is from men that make their living carrying guns and putting bad people on the ground. They all stress the same thing use your sights. When shooting at another person, the only thing that tells you where your rounds are going is your sights. There is no berm, no neat black hole in a sheet of white paper. No ring of steel or bowling pin falling over. There is no spray of blood or chunks of meat flying. If you are lucky, your target will react - a flinch or wince, or maybe the targets shirt will puff out for an instant . If you are really lucky they will stagger or fall, but even those aren't definite indicators of even a peripheral hit, let alone a solid one. Maybe they tripped, maybe they are diving for cover. The only way to know if you are getting hits is to note the position of your sights relative to your target when you break the shot. Evaluate your intervention and reapply force as appropriate and necessary.
    • Jeff Cooper didn't believe in point shooting.  He believed in a "flash sight picture" which is about what you're talking about.  I also agree with Cooper that if you're properly trained, when the time comes "the target will be large, the range short, and you'll have plenty of time".
    • I've been familiar with Lesniak for some time.  I've never heard of him supporting anything that wasn't liberal/progressive/socialist/communist dogma. I'm not interested in hunting. I also have nothing against it.  I agree with @RichP even trophy hunting has its place.  If nothing else it throws thousands of dollars into a local economy.  Rest assured if you go to Africa to hunt a lion, giraffe, elephant, hippo, or anything else that meat is eaten.
    • Yes, that’s a good explanation.

    • Target shooting means you squeeze the trigger when you have a clear sight picture. Combat shooting means you press the trigger when you have an acceptable sight picture.   Of course, in some cases, sights are optional.
