Softest shooting .45

Well, went to the range.. rented few firearms and decided to stick to 9mm.

purchased CZ 75 P01 compact with rail alloy frame decocker , and CZ 75 compact steel frame with rail safety.

completely derailed from original point of view.

Nothing wrong with a 9mm.  You're not losing anything.

FWIW I've been a 45 fan since the 60s.  I shoot a lot more 9 than I do 45.

If 45 ACP ammo was even a little cheaper, they would sell a lot more.  But as it stands, it's hard to get into the other calibers unless you do a ton of reloading or money isn't an issue.

$260 a case from Targetsportusa.com not cheap enough for you?

Not when you can get 9mm for under 9 bucks a box.

And I'm 2 deep in 45 autos.

Of all the .45 ACP handguns I've owned and/or shot, the softest feeling one was the Ruger SR45.  I don't know why, but the felt recoil was very light compared to everything else I have.  Frankly, I found it boring to shoot compared to everything else so I sold it.

I second the Ruger SR45, I have one and the felt recoil, at leas to me seems very soft.  I also have an RIA M1911, and the Ruger might be just a slight bit softer.  But either one you can shoot all day no issues with recoil whatsoever.

Because of the height / width ratio on a 45ACP case, it can be hand loaded from "bunny fart" to "hardball" with amazing simplicity.  Add a pack of different power Wolff gun springs and a little time at the range, you can create any type of shooting pistol you want.  Oh, and ditto to all steel 1911s.

45...  CZ 97B.  All day shooter for sure.  I shot one at a range once and it was magical.

With 1911's a lot of the recoil impulse can be controlled by how it's built.  It the FPS is "square" it will recoil softer.  It will also be more difficult to rack.

The CZ's you purchased are great guns.  Good luck.

S&W Model 25-2

Did you expect anything other than a revolver from me?

Adios,

Shokbuff or not to shokbuff your 1911?

I notice when I use a shokbuf I have to manually drop the slide lock lever when racking

Verboten !

A device looking for a problem

Maintain your recoil spring.....that is enough.
