remakes

They sort of tried to remake a PC version of All in the Family. It was a miserable flop. 704 Hauser 6 episodes made and cancelled after 5 aired back in 1994. All in the Family like Cheers and MASH should never be remade. However I would like CBS to rerun the original All in The Family Episodes Uncut in Primetime. That would make SJW look for their safe space.

Doing a quick Google search it seems Logo is now a confused Bi-Sexual channel. A bunch of articles in 2012 state Logo is abandoning Gay Programming, but 2015 articles state they are back to their Gay Roots. Very confusing. I don't think Directv has Logo.

Does anyone know a quick rundown of the MeTV, AntennaTV, etc type channels on Directv? If they exist and what channel they are. I bought fire sticks and Roku stick on sale recently and hope to cut the wire, but I haven't had time with the weather to set them up yet.

There is a bunch of cool stations like them to. At least there was last I checked. I was getting them with antenna on my parents all in one computer, but I can't get a good signal at my house unless I put one of those big antennas in the attic or even better on the roof.

How about "All in the Family" and the "Jeffersons" - just to watch the liberal heads explode...

Those were originally made to make the conservative heads explode.

know what i wanna see again? loony tunes. bugs bunny. road runner. all of those old toons.

Thankfully, all of the originals are well preserved on DVD (most of them, anyway).  In fact, I have some Laser Discs of some of the cartoons before they were "politically corrected."  If they aren't there, they're on YouTube. I was able to find decent clips of all the "Censored 11" cartoons on YouTube.  And I also have a Laser disc with "Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips" on it (before it was taken off), and a VHS tape containing "Tokyo Jokio" on it.

You won't see things like those originals made these days. Remember the "Now I've seen everything..."  clips where the character that has just "seen everything" shoots themselves, etc. This, or recall when "Herman" the Mouse made Katnip the cat ingest sleeping pills in the soda fountain store. That was also censored. I must have seen that cartoon a zillion times as a kid... and I never took (or caused someone else to take) sleeping pills like that.

Not to mention all the racial/ethnic/sexist stuff... :dontknow:

I guess I'm going to be different. :D

I really don't want to see any original shows "remade." The remakes are, usually, just not as good.  I'd rather see the older shows restored and preserved onto Digital media (DVD / Blu Ray).  Then I'd want to see new shows created, perhaps with similar themes, but not the exact same remake.  I recall when, for example, The "next" Karate Kid (with Hilary Swank) film was made (after the trilogy with Ralph Machio was finished). And, even though Pat Morita reprized his role as Miyagi, it just wasn't the same chemistry as the original trilogy.  I saw the other day that they're going to do a "Crocodile Dundee" remake with the character being his "unknown" son....

I dunno.....  :dontknow:

Magnum, PI

and anything written by Stephen J Cannell ( A-Team ) which includes a lot of shows already mentioned.

Magnum was one of the best series ever.  I've watched it over and over. It would be impossible to get a crew together like Magnum, Higgins, Rick, TC, Agatha, Icepick and the other regulars.  After seeing the original characters for 8 years you kind of get the people playing them locked in.

There's one thing Magnum did which no one else did before on TV or in the movies.  It made the Vietnam Vets the heroes.  Prior to Magnum, Vietnam Vets were usually depicted as crazy, alcoholics, drug addicts, or mass killers.

Most remakes stink IMO.  There have been a few good ones.

Unfortunately, remakes are capitalizing on the popularity of past shows and are using them as an opportunity for liberal (socialist) social engineering.  The updated plots usually have little to do with the original show.

Ergo, box office nervous

So true.  My coworker talked about this.  He was not a Vet but his brother was.  He told me something I will never forget.  This was the first time Democrats openly showed their hatred of our armed forces.
