Rob0115 1,105 Posted January 12, 2018 https://www.franklinarmory.com/collections/complete-firearms/products/franklin-armory-xo-26-s matbe NJ legal like the shockwave? Comes with NFA letter that says no stamp required
High Exposure 5,635 Posted January 12, 2018 I’m guessing - Having only ever had a binary trigger installed makes it not a rifle and not a machine gun. Like the Shockwave/Tac-14, it falls under “firearm”.
Rob0115 1,105 Posted January 12, 2018 I thought I read it has a smooth bore but may be mistaken. NJ legal?
High Exposure 5,635 Posted January 12, 2018 Pretty sure it isn't smoothbore SSD confirmed it. I think it’s the trigger that’s the key. http://soldiersystems.net/2018/01/11/franklin-armory-announces-reformation-11-5-barrel-w-conventional-stock-no-tax-stamp/ Dunno about N.J. legal... My gut says no, but I’ve been known to be wrong.
Rob0115 1,105 Posted January 12, 2018 I thought given the legality of the shotguns this would work.
Pew Pew Plates 358 Posted January 12, 2018 Well, NJ defines "assault rifles" "assault shotguns" and "assault pistols" "A semi-automatic rifle that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least two of the following:..." Well, it's not a rifle, so that doesn't matter anymore right?

My gut says no, but I’ve been known to be wrong. Funny thing, their website says the Binary Trigger System Pack (the trigger kit) is not available for sale to civies in NJ. So I wonder if they will send a gun that has the trigger system in it to NJ. https://www.franklinarmory.com/products/binary-firing-system-gen-iii-trigger-pack
High Exposure 5,635 Posted January 12, 2018 Well, I guess that dropping a binary trigger into an existing gun that is already classified as a “Rifle” and having a “firearm” that is distinctly not a rifle, by whatever definition they have discovered, with a binary trigger are two completely different things. Only time will tell. And this is N.J. so......
1LtCAP 4,259 Posted January 12, 2018 i'm thinking that the binary trigger will flag it. 1 round for each pull of the trigger.

Shane45 807 Posted January 12, 2018 Everything else aside, it is my opinion as I have said before, the binary trigger is illegal in NJ per the statute "I."Machine gun" means any firearm, mechanism or instrument not requiring that the trigger be pressed for each shot "

Rob0115 1,105 Posted January 12, 2018 I think the muzzle device is rifled and the barrel is smooth. Obviously not a precision shooter but a blaster.

JohnnyB 4,289 Posted January 13, 2018 Why debate this? We all know a binary trigger is a no go in the PRNJ!
High Exposure 5,635 Posted January 13, 2018 13 minutes ago, JohnnyB said: Why debate this? We all know a binary trigger is a no go in the PRNJ! Agreed. I do not think this will be NJ legal - because of the trigger. I just think the trigger is what gets around the Federal NFA laws.

High Exposure 5,635 Posted January 13, 2018 It’s cool and any finger in the eye if some of these stupid laws is a god thing. There is another way to get a N.J. legal SBR sized gun. My MSAR (AUG clone) is shorter overall than my issued Colt Commando.

Ray Ray 3,566 Posted January 13, 2018 Everyone said the Tac-14 and Shockwave would be illegal. It's a short barreled shotgun, it's an assault weapon, it's scary. Can't be legal. EVERYONE said this Then they became legal
