mustang69 503 Posted January 19, 2018 Haven't seen this mentioned here yet, but there is a video on Fox News with Sweeney talking about NJ tax policy. I hate to admit it but he actually sounds reasonable - even mentioning the problem in NJ is a spending issue, not a revenue issue. Yes, it may all be posturing so when Murphy crashes and burns Sweeney comes out smelling like a rose, but he certainly didn't sound like someone who would be pushing for everything Murphy wanted. http://video.foxnews.com/v/5714633708001/ Just how bad has this state gotten that Sweeney is sounding reasonable? My concern now will be the Dems needing to find some issue to push so they appear to be doing something - and whatever they do will need to play to their base. Gun laws fit that criteria...
sroc112 19 Posted January 19, 2018 I listened to this live in the car on my way home before. I was quite surprised as well.
T Bill 649 Posted January 19, 2018 Sweeney knows if he gives in to the leprechaun now it will be a blood bath when the next state elections come around. This has happen before in NJ and he's at the top of the Senate's food chain.
EX Carnival man 223 Posted January 19, 2018 We're living in dark times as gun owners here in NJ now. I can't say I didn't know this day was coming but it hurts just the same. We really need a miracle now.
jackandjill 683 Posted January 19, 2018 Didn't we know ? They are all "reasonable", as, how and when it suits them.
Shawnmoore81 623 Posted January 19, 2018 Sweeney use to be reasonable. Then fell to the dark side. I voted for him a few timesSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
maintenanceguy 509 Posted January 19, 2018 Sweeney used to be the friend of sportsmen and gun owners. Then he combined 21 anti-gun bills into the "Sweeney Omnibus Gun Control Bill" which passed the assembly and senate. I don't consider him reasonable. Ray Ray 3,566 Posted January 20, 2018 Sweeney is the "Dicks Sporting Goods" of the gun community. He supports the 2A BUT........ 10 round magazines are reasonable We should close the gunshow loophole 50. Cal rifles have no sporting use

CAL. .30 M1 2,101 Posted January 20, 2018 Sweeney is not saving black rifles or military types....forget it....not going to happen ....ever again. Your only help resides in the courts as @capt14k has stated

Your only help resides in the courts as capt14k has statedThere is that slim chance that Sweeney hates Murphy enough to block anything Murphy wants, but it is unlikely. The courts are really the only hope.Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

(i.e. Trump's successor is elected - Pence, or whomever). Still, she will go down swingin'. I expect her to depart while still sitting on the Bench... whenever that may be for her. She won't retire on her own. Only way I think she'd leave before her demise is if we're talking any kind of "neurological" clinical diagnosis (Alzheimer's, etc.).
