DaddyNick 408 Posted March 1, 2018 Hmm. I've got a #5. Was my father's. His father before that. I know it's Colt 38. I'll dig it out tomorrow to see which one.
45Doll 5,874 Posted March 2, 2018 True story. My mother was a big fan of Dirty Harry's movies. Frequently used 'I gots to know' in everyday conversation. She spent the last six years of her life with us. So one evening while she's watching the original 'Dirty Harry', I bring up the Model 29 from the safe and hand it to her. "Here, you want to shoot those guys yourself?". She got a big laugh out of that, then tried to pick it up. It took both her hands just to get it to eye level; never mind pulling the trigger. I finally did ask her 'did you fire six shots, or only five?'. She got another laugh out of that too. She never owned a gun in her life. After that she had even more respect for 'that big cop'.
