NICS issues

35 for a handgun?

Nics is 15 bucks regardless of the type of gun or how many you buy in a single transaction

20 for the background check on the application, 15 at point of sale.

I was wondering that... I hoped his FFL was not charging him 35 for nics on a handgun.

Hell i would have offered 50% off :)

Is there a difference between their NICS and your NICS?

No but it sorta appeared that he was paying 35.00 for a pistol nics :)

Yes I got that. Thanks. But for my own curiosity, is the NICS background you do at time of purchase the same background done by NJSP at application time?

Nics when picking up a firearm is not the same as the Background check the NJSP does when giving you permits or an FID

I dont know exactly the difference.. But i do know iv had people who recently got FID cards and were denied Nics..

Maybe NJSP does not check national databases to issue FID and P2P... not really sure except they are not the same.

More likely they did something between the time of FPID/Permit issue and the NICS check.

AND, they always "know" despite their contrary claim.

Not according to them. It was a thing from thier younger years

That could be. NJSP did catch something from 30 years ago for me that stores don’t see. Of course they let it slide. At least the last 3 times.
