Where are those towns...........

As strange as it may sound, there are many. I live in one and know several chief's of other towns that agree. Look at what is starting to happen in CA, the local townships and counties have had enough of the ultra liberal know it all BS. Most likely if you live north of 195 your out of luck.

So everyone is pissed off, so am I. But the bottom line is if just under 60% of the firearm permit holder's in NJ voted in the past election this a-hole would not be governor. Like it or not that's the math. I'm sure everyone on this forum voted, at least I hope so, so you and everyone else is wasting your breath. It's the other 40+ % of the firearm owner's you have to blame for this fiasco.

What you should really be worried about is what this governor has up his sleeve next. He plans to make NJ it's own socialist country and to hell with federal laws. He has already proven that.

The best everyone can do is keep contributing to the organizations that will sue.

I suggest that we petition the "free" towns in this state and have their police chief's declare their towns "Safe Havens" for legal firearm owners and have them refuse to enforce the magazine laws. Let's see him argue that the towns are acting illegally when he is doing the same sh*t with federal laws.

Yes (sadly), yes (give $$$), and yes (on civil disobedience). ANJRPC just filed the magazine limit law suite so now is the time to step up (again) and donate (don't complain later, and remember, if 10R dosn't burn your butt, it is just a step on the way to 5, etc.)...I like the idea of  sanctuary-2A-towns also. Any ideas how to go about doing this? Just a thought, I think it might be good for those merchants in the industry to take a leadership role in their respective towns.

If I felt fine possessing 4 20 round AR mags modified to 15 I feel fine possessing my 15 round pistol mags modified to ten after I hope someone here comes up with a simple way.

That's what I think too. If people were OK with 15/30 or 15/20 that had magblocks installed, just go do the same thing again, just for 10.

Wait seriously this is a thing? How do we find out if we live in one and how do we get this movement going?

I hear ya Fred, but they should have the balls to actually stand up and do what's right, but then again, they are politicians that are trying to stay in office till they drop dead.

Worst are the Republicans who voted for it including the GOP assembly leader.

PK90 did all my 15/30 Pmags and they are permanent so no way to reduce the capacity to 10! Most of the mags at any LGS in Jersey were done by Paul.

Midwest PX too.

I'm sure there's plenty in Sussex/Warren/Hunterdon and Southern NJ, too.

If you could somehow remove the part of the state about 10 miles to each side of the NJ Turnpike, it would be Texas without the barbecue.

i'd strongly suggest everyone thinking of selling their mags or butchering them to not do so. this bill is as unconstitutional as they come and will be tossed by any court in the country, including liberal ones. i haven't said much because i actually doubted it would pass. clearly our esteemed legislature are not versed on the constitution. ex post facto laws are specifically prohibited, by name, under article 1 section 10 of our trusty document. ex post facto laws are those which make illegal an act which was legal when committed. if you bought 15 round mags legally, they cannot suddenly become illegal. period. done. end of story. (as an aside, bump stock bans will fall as well). not only is murphy a moron, but he's a greedy moron as well. had he allowed simple grandfathering (like the other states have), it would have been harder to challenge. not impossible mind you, just harder. as it stands, this jackass is going to make the taxpayers pay for something that has no chance of standing. if you have 15rd mags in nj, you'll keep 15 rd mags in nj. take it to the bank. the california ban was supposed to have been in effect as of jan 1. the judge in the most liberal court in the country had to stop it for the same reason

the real question for me is where did this attorney general get his law degree? he should be disbarred for giving consent to murphy to sign the bill

How? Unless you have Hexmags, all modified mags like pmags are epoxied shut.

I think C-Products lanced the magazine bodies to limit the capacity to 15 rounds and so they could be taken apart for cleaning.

Also, I have a couple of firearms with magazines that the magazine spring attaches to a spring base, and the spring and spring base are held in by the magazine base plate.

Wondering if you just epoxied the Magblock limiter to the spring base if that would work and you would still be able to clean the magazine.

I agree that all of this is unconstitutional, and it will all eventually be overturned by the courts, but courts make glaciers look like sprinters by comparison and I'd rather not spend my golden years in prison waiting for it to happen.

In the meantime, there is plenty of safe space to the west of the Delaware River.

I'm not selling anything.

that's what injunctions are for. take all the time you want courts. in the meantime, the law is on hold

Well, magazine limits haven’t been tossed in any other state that has them. Closest that has happened is the NY 7 in a 10 round mag got tossed as unenforceable but the 10 round limit stands. CA’s law was upheld as well (https://www.courthousenews.com/californias-ban-on-gun-magazines-survives-challenge/)  and Massachusetts has had a 10 round limit for a long time and there has been no injunction or lawsuit that has gotten anywhere there so I’m not holding my breath on this one being overturned. I predict it is it will be slow walked in the NJ courts. I’ll be impressed if they get an injunction handed down.

I’ll stay guardedly optimistic about the court option but I’m not going to delude myself into thinking it’s a sure thing even if it gets into the higher courts.

As far as I know the CA challenge is still ongoing and the injunction stands. Correct me if I’m wrong.

The injunction was in place from June 2017. This is the case the injunction was in place until in Feb 2018. From the article, “Shubb declined to issue a preliminary injunction in June, and on Wednesday granted the state’s motion to dismiss.”

Far as I know, no further injunction has been placed and the law is in effect or will be this month.

You are correct.  The injunction against enacting (enforcing) the magazine ban still stands.

Nope, that is from 2017, the article I linked is from the actual court case in Feb 2018 and the injunction was killed by the Judge and the case dismissed.

I haven’t seen anything about an appeal or any other injunction applied after the Feb case was dismissed.
