Sniper 6,372 Posted March 30, 2018 Saw these on Reddit, anyone hear about these 4 new proposed laws? A3697 would make the state's 'assault' weapon ban even more restrictive. http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2018/Bills/A4000/3697_I1.HTM A3708 would give first priority for firearm purchase cards and carry permits to those that are under the protection of a restraining order http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2018/Bills/A4000/3708_I1.HTM A3730 would define 'reasonably necessary deviations' for transporting a firearm in a motor vehicle http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2018/Bills/A4000/3730_I1.HTM S2323 would require anyone wishing to use a firearm at a range to have a firearm purchase indemnification card http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2018/Bills/S2500/2323_I1.HTM Looks like the Dems are throwing EVERYTHING at the wall, trying to get something to stick! njJoniGuy 2,131 Posted March 30, 2018 A3697 is the most recent version of the "Assault Weapon Redefinition" bill. It will for all intents and purposes ban every semi-auto rifle made because every one is designed to be held by your non-trigger hand, an act that makes it a newly minted AW regardless of any other evil feature. This one bill being enacted into law will be the end of the State of New Jersey. Blood WILL run in the streets.

diamondd817 826 Posted March 30, 2018 3708/3730 will never pass. Because they may actually benefit the law abiding citizen/gun owner.
BobA 1,235 Posted March 30, 2018 Definition "f" of A3697 can be raad to include nail guns and Hilti power guns. Also para #2 line vii, will this make our 1911s assault weapons due to their weight?

A single action BFR revolver would be an assault weapon.

All they need to do is look at sales figures throughout the last 10 years or so just to get a small idea of how many 1911s are out there. That number alone, which is a small fraction of the actual amount in circulation, would be more than enough to prove "common use"
Sota 1,191 Posted March 30, 2018 as a member of a range that reports membership annually to the state police (names only) 3730 is irrelevant to me, as the "reasonable deviation" clause was already negated.
