A Shin Gunto  is what it seems to be. WW2 Japanese Army officer's sword. Carefully remove the Tsuka and see if the blade is signed. Would you mind telling us what the asking price is?

I highly doubt this is a fake but I am by no means an expert on katanas. Now back to the price.

The blade looks to be factory made and not handmade due to the lack of a hamon. Around $800 to $1,200 seems to be the average price for these mass produced katanas.

Thank you for the feedback, unfortunately nothing under the Tsuka. asking is $750, but I think there is wiggle room.

With a factory made blade, Nothing should be under the tsuka! The price is below average so I would jump on it if it were me! Good luck in your new and EXPENSIVE hobby!:)
