Remington 11-87

Recommended Posts

If it's in good condition and a decent price then grab it.

I've been using an 11-87 for clays (skeet and sporting clays) for about 8 years.

They run fine as long as you keep the gas piston clean. I'm actually still using the same o-ring that came with the gun fron the factory (I always rub a little silicon grease on it when cleaning and put some painters tape over the magazine threads when taking it on and off).

It runs pretty much every type of ammo that i put through it. The only ammo that i have trouble with occassionally is Estate (the brass will separate from the shell during extraction)

I very nearly 'pulled the trigger' on one years ago.

It came up to my shoulder well and was nicely balanced, but a little heavy for a hunting/woods shotgun - which is what *I* wanted, but the weight makes for a better clay shooter.  Don't get me wrong, its not a 'heavy' gun; its just not a light 6.5 to 7 pounder for walking the woods.

I know a bunch of people who have 'em and like 'em.  Never heard a complaint.
