Looks like a pretty good deal for a decent steel target with stand. Can always replace the target once you shoot it up. 3/8 inch. Regular price $80, on sale for $49.99 and free Prime shipping. Shipped and sold by Amazon so if it is crappy quality I am fairly sure they will stand behind it.

It is me again!
Anyone here use a magnifier with their red dot? Is the whole idea to let you see further out or just more in your face with the red dot? How do you hit a 12 x 24 target at 100 yards? Will a magnifier let you take that task? I know for sure a nice scope would do it, but I wanted the red dot for those shorter outings and I would be shooting < 100 yards most of the time. So I picked out a 3x magnifier that isn't very expensive but has a good name behind it. They also make a 6x model. Comes with a mount where you can just push the magnifier to the side when you don't want to use it or QD right off the rail. Is it something to eventually look at?
Thanks.

25 yards using a small pistol target with only iron sites. Very first time on the range with it. I can count all 15 bullet holes. And boy do I love shooting the rifle! I won't deny my pistols trigger time, but it is hard not to want to shoot a powerful rifle. I ordered an Aimpoint micro red dot H2 for it. Comes with the standard picatinny mount but I'm not sure if the optic is going to be sitting high enough to clear my iron backup site in front of it. Either I'll just remove the front iron site or see if I can find a mount that lifts the optic up just a little bit. I like low profile and don't want the optic sitting up in the air, but heck, it may even be easier to shoot and won't have to put my head into such a position. Anyone recommend a good mount that will clear the Magpul backup sites? I was eye balling this one hard.

Anyway, here is the target. Practice makes perfect!

Up for sale a Nikon Monarch 1.5-4.5X20 Riflescope. Scope formerly sat on top of my old Mini 14, so it is used. It also has some aftermarket lens covers on them (Buffalo Creek I believe). I'm asking $100 for the scope. Willing to drive within an hour of Woodbridge or meet half way. Buyer pays any shipping costs. First to post "I'll take it" wins the scope.

In 50 years of living in NJ I've never experienced any attempt to inspect the interior of the home, and only one definite inspection of the exterior for an announced reassessment of all properties and that was a drive by. About 9 years of that was living in an apartment, but still, uncommon. Every place I lived had either a finished attic, basement, or both. But they were also included in the habitable square footage on the taxes when we got there.

27.00 and change in tolls to drive down the shore from Rutherford, 47.00 in tolls to go out to Long island to visit dying relatives. Now I read they are going to raise the fees in the DMV. Murphy lied just to get elected when he said that seniors will get a significant tax break with his StayNJ" program to stop us from leaving. Keep voting for democrats...this is what you get. Tax and spend is all they know. Never cut anything. This state sucks.

I get the added benefit that since I have a TSP rather than a true 401(k) they tax my retirement too. Yaaaay!
