this_is_nascar 162 Posted May 16, 2018 I thought I read that this ammo will be quieter in a rifle than it will be in a handgun, but does anyone have any experience firing this from a 4"-8' barrel? In particular, I'm curious as to how loud it is. Thanks in advance. http://www.cci-ammunition.com/products/detail.aspx?use=3&loadNo=960 Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
Bully 749 Posted May 16, 2018 I've shot it and CB's out of my 4". With muffs on I've had RO's think I had a squib. It's that quiet. I've not fussed with it without hearing protection on so can't comment on it. There is also pretty much zero recoil so it's good for a kid or recoil averse person. 10X 3,278 Posted May 16, 2018 It'll be quieter still out of a semi-auto (no gas blasting out of the cylinder gap), but it won't cycle the action, and it may or may not feed out of the magazine.
Ray Ray 3,566 Posted May 16, 2018 Shoot 22 shorts in a revolver, you hear zippo.
Vicious 138 Posted May 16, 2018 4" barrel revolver, sounds like an air rifle. Actually, closer yet, do you remember those cap guns when you were a kid? Sounds like those.
Shortfuse 39 Posted May 16, 2018 Optimum length for CCI quiets is 24" in my opinion all you hear is the click of the firing pin striking the bullet 22" is good but 24" is best. Out of a revolver it is quieter than standard ammo but keep in mind that round needs 18" to stabilize that ammo tumbles when shot out of a Handgun
