Beretta Olympia 22

Recommended Posts

I was browsing some of the firearms YouTubers I haven't looked at in a bit when I came across this very interesting rifle.

Bolt AND semi 22!  Beretta Olympia.

A very nice looking rifle with classic wood stock with nice looking old school checkering manufactured in the 1950s & 1960s.

Military surplus available for sale through J&G Sales.

Thought some of you might be interested.

It was also brought up on another thread too. I found it to be cool enough to order one and then I found an original rear Diopter Sight. Both have shipped. Thanks for giving it it's own thread. Also thanks to WP22 for posting that there is a $40 off coupon Olympia40 that brings total shipped to $380. Rear Diopter is nearly as expensive as the rifle. There are also aftermarket scope mounts that can be purchased for around $100 shipped.

Now be a sweetheart and find some cheap mags. I'm not liking having to pay 45.00 each for 10 rounders.

So I got mine on Saturday. Thank you @Oakridgefirearms for doing the transfer. Tom is a good guy and not only I'll use him again, I'll also recommend him.

Anyway, like a dope I didn't take any pictures.

The guts are fine; no rust and weren't messed with, that I could tell, at least.

The action is smooth. The crown is perfect.

The bore isn't bright/shiny/new  but looked perfect. The riffling looked sharp, too.

Overall the steel is in very good shape.

The wood on the other hand. Chips, divots and cuts are expected. But the finish is just too far gone.

I may have to commit a sacrilege and refinish the stock.

Did yours have a Diopter base? I requested one but didn't get one.
