So I've got my FID and am looking to purchase a replica MP40 airgun for target practice. This is the gun in question I'm particularly looking at https://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Umarex_Legends_MP40_CO2_BB_Submachine_Gun/4312

The gun itself is capable of full auto firing at roughly 450fps. It also includes a 52rd pellet mag. I've read up on the airgun laws and know that airguns are considered firearms under NJ state law, so does that mean every firearm law applies to airguns also or are there exceptions to them where you can purchase any airgun as long as you have an FID?

Thanks

This one had caught my eye https://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Crosman_DPMS_SBR_Full_Auto_BB_Air_Rifle/4571

But since it magically becomes a "firearm" when it crosses the NJ border now you have both a machine gun AND an SBR...at that point you might as well throw a suppressor on it too and get the trifecta

I found a war video game I forgot I had.... It has full auto rifles, rifles on the NJ banned list and most of the guns in it have over 10 round mags and multiple evil features...… Can I destroy the game myself or am I required to turn it over to the local authorities?

I almost made this mistake once. Was at a sporting goods shop in PA. They had a BB pistol with a shoulder stock that shot semi or 6 round bursts. Thought it would make for a fun toy and was ready to buy it until i remembered NJ classifies them as firearms.

That was pretty much THE point in time when it dawned on me just how ridiculous the gun laws are it this state. Buying an over the counter BB gun in PA would have turned into possession of a high capacity magazine, an sbr, and a machine gun as soon as I stepped foot back in NJ

Hello, new owner of a handgun in NJ. Had a question for all of you experts out there! I keep seeing all these different things online so I have an suv so the trunk area is accessible to the back seat area. From my understanding, it needs to be locked in a case and its fine to be in the trunk of my suv? Also my other question.. the ammo.. that needs to be in a separate case? Does it need to have a lock on it or can it just be a bag with a zipper?

As a gun owner in New Jersey I understand the mess of laws in the state. Now that I own milsurps I'm curious is it lawful to own bayonets not carry just own (of course). If it's legal what about taking them to the range for a photoshoot. Lastly I have a question about carrying a knife mostly as a tool of course I have a Swiss knife and I used that is my tool normally and for my understanding it's under the lawful purpose clause or whatever. I was thinking about getting 3.25 in pocket knife foldable blade not assisted in any way I assume lawful I don't know if anyone's had trouble with carrying knives New Jersey other than the few court cases that's still left the wall kind of vague like New Jersey likes it. I'll probably keep carrying the Swiss pocket knife but I find that the blade may be weak for some things but I do like it's simplistic size mostly everything I would probably need for my basic lifestyle. I'm sure carrying a knife has been debated a lot in this forum before but I haven't seen anything so if you have any links or just want to give me the simple rundown I'm fine with that.

Referenced in other threads is a news/law story about the LAPD's overreaching to seize firearms:

The story came out in 2015 but I can't find anything newer about how the case was adjudicated.  Does anyone know more about this lawsuit?
I am curious about such cases but often there is little followup after the initial court filing, especially if a lawsuit went against the gun control people.

      Hi all.
This is my first time posting in the forum. After having searched through both this forum and the inner-webs, in general for information pertaining to the legality of this this particular stock, I have seemingly gotten nowhere, so I figured I'd post/ask about it here.
The stock in question is the Strike Industries Viper Modular Fixed Stock and I am trying to find out if it would count as having one of the "offending features" within the state of NJ?

The stock definitely does not fold, and it does not appear to qualify as telescoping under the traditional sense. The length of pull IS adjustable by means of spacers inserted between the castle nut and the actual stock, BUT the adding/removing of these spacers requires using a hex wrench to completely disassemble the stock first.
      My questions are:
Do any of you currently have/use this particular stock here in the State of NJ?
Do you think this stock would qualify as one of NJ's offending features, or at least look "different-enough" to put one under risk of enhanced scrutiny and possible arrest if one had it on their AR-15?
I had one gunsmith tell me that stocks must be permanently pinned (not true, since the only thing I recall as needing to be permanent is the muzzle brake) and I also had a representative from U.S. Law Shield tell me that he "Didn't think it would count as an offending feature, but in the State of NJ who knows?"
      Looking forward to the replies.

Was wondering if this stock is legal in NJ. I visited the branchburg Heritage Guild looking for a 10/22 to mod and was informed they basically stopped selling 10/22 AR style stocks and was threaten with getting their license pulled because of them. I wonder if this stock would apply also.

It seems it would only check 1 of the evils for "maybe" having a pistol style grip or the plastic shroud over the barrel might be another.

      Thoughts?
