murphy, "name and shame"

Recommended Posts

Murphy wants to "name and shame" states that follow the constitution,  Hey A-hole how about naming and shaming the judges, prosecutors, and AG's who constantly release and plea criminals out.    How about naming the criminals who commit these gun crimes and tell us how many PRIOR felonies they have as well as the JUDGES who keep letting them out to prey on us.

I can only hope that they will be honest with the information they obtain.  Sure, there will be firearms from other states, but there will probably be a significant percentage of untraceable firearms and firearms that have been unlawfully in New Jersey for a significant period of time, which, if done honestly and objectively, will basically give some of the "name and shame" back to Murphy, at least in my opinion.

Here is his problem with name and shame other states, the problem is not those states it IS New Jersey.  If it really were those other states then they would have MASSIVE gun problems with only a small portion getting exported.  The problem is NJ lets criminals get away with gun charges (in violation of the GRAVES ACT) but throws the book at honest citizens that get tripped up of technical violations.

If I understand this new AG directive correctly, its really not that big a deal. We run a trace on every crime gun recovered anyway. At least... we're supposed to. It doesn't ALWAYS happen, but thats another matter entirely.

The ATF has a website called etrace that facilitates this pretty well. Most LE agencies in other states can set up their own account through etrace and run the traces themselves. Of course, in NJ, we're supposed to run them through "NJTRACE", which basically sends the info to the state police, who then runs the gun through etrace. This is an unnecessary step, IMO, and it just slows things down. But thats NJSP for you.

Anyway, every LE agency that has an etrace account can "opt in" to allow other LE agencies to view the results of traces ran by their agency. Most agencies in NJ didn't know that you could do this because, again, everything has to be run through the NJSP. This just makes it mandatory for agencies to share the results. Most LE agencies in other states do this anyway.

All the ATF does is trace the serial# back to the original purchaser of the gun. The response is a one page summary listing the original dealer, the purchaser, the make, manufacturer, and importer of the firearm. Thats it. It doesn't really amount to much if the gun was sold privately umpteen times since the original purchase.

As for them using the data to "shame" other states... go right ahead. If Murphy thinks that the governor of Georgia/Texas/Tennessee gives two sh*ts what some Massachusetts millionaire thinks about pretty much anything, he can keep on dreaming.

Wasn’t it mentioned that all the crime gun location stuff is already traced by the ATF. But they only trace the ones their asked about.  So any of the obvious ones, that are obviously local, don’t get traced and don’t show up in the report. This skews the statistics against locally sourced firearms.

wasn’t it the case that someone posted a report here that showed a significant number, if not a majority of gun used in crimes in NJ were not from out of state?

oh yeah.  This...

So, the majority of guns used in crimes in Maryland were sourced locally.  I’m not exactly certain about what the author means by “sourced”.  Assume bought.  The OP mentions that is also the case for NJ.  If its true for MD seems reasonable to also be true for NJ.

Yet Murphy and other anti gun nuts keeps saying guns are coming from other states.  So its obvious to me he is trying to make the case that other states need to be forced in some way to have guns control like NJ.

I guess he isn’t satisfied with flushing NJ down the toilet.  He wants to take some other states with it.

NJ in 2016

https://www.atf.gov/firearms/docs/undefined/2016tracestatsnewjerseypdf/download

521/3918 or 13% from NJ.

Keep in mind this is the ATF data. I think they’re only called in to trace guns that aren’t obvious to local authorities. That means local numbers could be underrepresented.

Here's one for murphy

Following that arrest, Superior Court Judge M. Christine Allen-Jackson denied a prosecution motion for pre-trial detention, according to court records, and permitted Oswald's release with a set of conditions limiting his movements and requiring regular reporting to court officials."

Hey murphy,     how about start here with shameing you A-hole

How about a "Name and Shame" thread be started to continue this.
