WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot 358 Posted September 14, 2018 Anyone else thinking about entering for one? On one hand, it would be cool to have a USGI marked Remington Rand 1911. On the other hand, $1K can buy alot of gun. Also, thinking I can't really lose money if they are being lotteried and I decide to sell if I happen to win... CMP 1911 ORDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL OCTOBER 4TH!! http://thecmp.org/cmp_sales/1911-information/
BMWR12 35 Posted September 14, 2018 I was thinking about it for awhile but then I found a nice colt with a mismatched numbered slide for $350. So I am going to pass for now. I don’t know if anything I would have gotten would have been as nice or have original finish.
Lambo2936 297 Posted September 14, 2018 Id love one but the fact that the condition is completely unknown worries me. Id rather pay a bit more and be guaranteed a good clean handgun. Pricing is a bit steep too IMO.
NJGF 375 Posted September 14, 2018 I placed my order (and so did a friend of mine). I am guessing the number of orders will far exceed the number of pistols so the odds are against us but we will see.
1563621 388 Posted September 14, 2018 Not bothering! There will be some gems, but the dogs really would worry me!
CAL. .30 M1 2,101 Posted September 14, 2018 Overpriced for shot out pistols. The gems will go to auction, a few will be a smattered across distribution to keep the buzz alive - others will be luck of the draw. You'll do better in the used market where you can actually see what your plunking your hard earned dollars down for. Just my opinion.
