GunBroker - Unfired Italian 92FS 92-FS INOX Stainless 9-mm SS

Recommended Posts

I wanted to pass this along for those interested. On GunBroker there is an auction by Tanners Sport Center for an "Unfired Italian 92FS 92-FS INOX Stainless 9-mm SS". This is the exact same model I own. This is an early generation that has a straight dust cover, controls on the frame are SS finish, and has no safety warning on the frame. Current bid is $515.09. (I paid $619.99 + tax for mine back in the 90's)

On this model, is the frame also stainless steel, or is it colored aluminum?

The frame is aluminum on mine which was made around the same time as the one on GunBroker. It is the latter to answer your question. There is a pic of my Beretta 92FS in this thread where you see the trigger bar wear against the frame. My Beretta 92FS has a slightly higher serial number than the one on GunBroker.

The frame is anodized aluminum.

Also note this has the original inox magazines with the white followers. This is a collectors piece. This will go for over $1000 easily ($1,200-$1,300 would be my guess).

Agreed that it's a collectors gun.  Nice find. That said, the steel framed Berettas are a whole different level of collector grade.  For example, the coveted frame-mounted safety is only found on the steel frames (don't even get me started on Taurus).

If we in NJ buy this we lose the mags, takes the value of this nice piece right down..

Not really. Buy it and have it shipped to an FFL that will make the mags compliant. RTSP does this.

Right but making them compliant and having 10rd mags, will ruin resale if you ever wanted to sell it, like mentioned above, this is kind of a collectors piece.
