Not unless you get a variance. An 01 is for "engaging in the business".

I believe the township approval is the first step. Then your Chief. Then NJSP. But there are a few guys working out of their houses. It’s a local call. They could grant you a “cottage” industry.

Yes.  I just got my 01.  Two is the first thing.  I had to get a letter from Twp zoning.  

Had to do an LLC with Tax documents and business License.

Next is application to state and feds.

Feds came first and the state took a bit but both were easy enough.  

Like Paul said, you have to do it for business reasons not personal.

I retire in 8 years so this is my side gig.
