Finally reached out to NJSP Woodbine today(a week since I was notified my permits were approved) since I haven't heard from them. It's now an automated phone system- press 1 for this 2 for that etc. Selected 5 for firearms and it just rang and rang and rang. No voice messaging system that I could tell- just kept ringing.
I'll second that. I did a basic build, as a throw away AR if necessary, with a PSA upper and Anderson lower for around $400. I did upgrade the trigger to a LaRue for the fun of it. It turned out to be a decent platform.
Rio Grande had some cones up but nothing that I would consider a clouser.
Arrived around 9am, spoke to a very friendly Sgt. at the scene and he told me they just over 6,000 people in line at 6am so we had no chance of getting inside the venue.
Everyone was friendly, saw no protesters ,Antifa, ect. - LE was very friendly all around and it was a bit chilly being overcast and right on the water........
Actually it's NOT for another thread. I'm giving you (and everyone else) a point of reference, from A LOT of experience in this area, on what you should focus on. Books are Plan "B", Pre planning is Plan "A". If you think digging around in a box, in the dark, is the correct way to handle a new situation, then go for it. Books and printouts, AFTER the fact, ain't going to save you.
But, have at it, don't take experienced advice... just keep hitting "CTRL-P"....
