njpilot 671 Posted March 27, 2019 So they're basically saying you can't use an "assault weapon" in what is already in most cases, a criminal act. Doesn't ban possession in those listed public places, only brandishing and discharging. Pretty frikkin stupid.

Sniper 6,372 Posted April 2, 2019 Update: Approved by the city council and now moves to be signed by the mayor into law: PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh City Council gave final approval Tuesday to gun restrictions proposed after last year's synagogue massacre, inviting a legal challenge by gun-rights activists who have long tangled with the city over firearms. After taking an initial vote last week, the all-Democratic council voted 6-3 to send the legislation to the desk of Democratic Mayor Bill Peduto, who is expected to sign the bills into law. The legislation places restrictions on military-style assault weapons like the AR-15 rifle that authorities say was used in the Oct. 27 rampage at Tree of Life Synagogue that killed 11 and wounded seven. It also bans most uses of armor-piercing ammunition and high-capacity magazines, and allows the temporary seizure of guns from people who are determined to be a danger to themselves or others. https://www.foxnews.com/us/pittsburgh-approves-gun-restrictions-lawsuits-expected

father-of-three 243 Posted April 10, 2019 The mayor's office thanked all of the special interest groups he claimed should not be involved in the writing of laws.... And he appears to believe that it is lawful to go around the legislature to write laws.
45Doll 5,874 Posted October 30, 2019 Pittsburgh lost the first round in court. I'm sending my PA attorney another contribution. Great work Joshua! Of course they will probably appeal. But they will lose there too.
father-of-three 243 Posted October 30, 2019 There's an informative discussion thread on pafoa.org, that even includes some dramatic facebook rants by the Pittsburgh mayor, claiming that his right to "tranquility" is being threatened. I didnt see that one in the PA or US Constitutions.
